Victoria Beckham On Being Posh: “I’m Not a Supermodel”

Ellen von Unwerth for GLAMOUR

Victoria Beckham is rarely snapped without her super-high heels and oversize shades, but, the star reveals, her “Posh” persona is hardly an accurate portrayal of her. “I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself,” Victoria tells Glamour in their March issue. “When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele.” In fact, Victoria even cops to suffering for her love of fashion, just like the rest of us. Of her signature stilettos, the 35 year-old admits, “Absolutely they hurt. I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.” Following the success of her star-loved line of dresses, Victoria is getting back into the denim game with the spring relaunch of her jeans collection. “I’m such a perfectionist,” she explains of taking a few seasons off from denim design. “I’ve worked really hard [with my team] to get it right.” And this time around, it was all about the silhouette: “Long, slim legs. Really good design. I’m not saying that you’ve got to be a stick to wear them. You can be all different shapes and sizes.” Pick up Glamour‘s March issue, on newsstands February 9, or visit Glamour.com to hear more from Victoria.–Andrea DeSimone and David Yi

Spanx’s Brand Spanking New Line — For Men!

After years of Steve Carell joking about his love for womens-only Spanx, Spanx for Men is finally becoming a reality! With pre-orders starting today, the line features items like cotton compression undershirts, which look identical to ordinary undergarments — but promise to suck in stubborn beer guts. Ranging in price from $55 for a tank to $58 for a crew-neck or a V-neck T-shirt, the brand’s founder, Sara Blakely, explains the need for the new range: “Men’s undershirts have been underperforming for as long as they’ve been around, with stretched out necks and bulky cuts that do nothing for the male physique,” she says in a release. “The men in my life (and in Hollywood) have been asking me to make Spanx for men for years, so I was inspired to create comfortable and powerful undershirts that provide instant gratification without gimmicks. It’s your favorite T-shirt without your least favorite part…love handles.” The styles hit shelves at Neiman Marcus on March 15, or you can pre-order them now.

Queen Latifah on Staying Fit, Fabulous and Philanthropic at (Almost) 40

National Photo Group

Queen Latifah is turning 40 in March — not that she’s focused on the numbers. “To me as long as you’re young at heart, it really doesn’t matter how old you are,” Latifah tells PEOPLE. “To me, age is really how you feel on the inside.” But with time, she has learned valuable health lessons that she wishes she’d practiced earlier. “I wish I had known more about nutrition and exercise and how really good it could affect you at a younger age. Then I would have kicked it up a lot sooner,” says the Jenny Craig spokesperson, who has kept off the 20-plus pounds she shed using the weight-loss program for almost three years. Nutrition is key: “I don’t really diet. I kind of keep everything in moderation, exercise and eat right. I eat a lot of vegetables and lean meats, and I drink a whole lot of water,” Latifah says, before admitting her weakness: “Mac and cheese…I gotta have it!” Beyond her dedication to staying healthy, the star is also committed to the Haitian relief effort, co-hosting the BET Network’s “SOS Saving Ourselves — Help for Haiti” telethon with Diddy and Pharrell, airing this Friday, February 5 on BET, Centric, MTV and VH1 at 8 P.M. EST. The Procter & Gamble- and Pepsi-sponsored event will benefit charities including Wyclef Jean’s Yéle Haiti. Latifah also hopes to give on a more personal level by building orphanages, and possibly even adopting: “I would love to, but it’s going to take some time because things are in a bit of disarray down there. That is definitely something I would try to do. There are a lot of kids who are in need of a good home now, and I definitely think I can provide that.” -Arnesa A. Howell

She’s Almost There: Sara Rue Loses 25 Lbs. on Jenny Craig

Shea Walsh/AP Images for Jenny Craig

A little more than two months ago, Jenny Craig’s newest spokeswoman, Sara Rue, announced to PEOPLE her goal of losing 30 lbs. with the program. After five days she had dropped 7 lbs., and now, just nine weeks after she began she’s already shed 25 lbs. — and can’t wait to lose the final 5. “I have a second closet with clothes ranging in sizes 2 to 8 that are waiting for me,” she says. And while Sara has almost met her original goal, the actress is open to dropping even more weight. “When I get there, I’m going to see how I feel,” she says. “It’s going to be less about clothes or how a pair of pants fit and more about if I go to the doctor and get on the scale, am I going to be considered a healthy person. If I am, I’m done.” The actress, who will appear in an upcoming episode of Private Practice keeps motivated with a fantasy outfit that she envisions wearing someday — soon. “I imagine myself in these dark blue skinny jeans, Christian Louboutin black heels and a scoop-neck tank,” she says. “Plain, simple, cute, comfortable. I don’t need to be in a Carolina Herrera designer gown — although those are nice, too!” Tell us: What do you think of Sara’s new slimmer look?–Elaine Aradillas

Kate Moss Reflects On Getting Older and Not Being A ‘Proper’ Fashion Designer

Courtesy Harper’s Bazaar

Not that Kate Moss needs any validation as a muse — nor as a pop culture icon — but the upcoming exhibition dedicated to the supermodel at Paris’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs in spring 2011 certainly dispels any doubts. Moss also appears on March’s cover of Harper’s Bazaar, and shares her reaction to the museum honor (“I just didn’t believe it,” she says) and on her growing reach as a fashion designer. Despite her success in the apparel business, the 36-year-old says, “I’m not really a fashion designer. I just love clothes. I’ve never been to design school. I can’t sketch. I can’t cut patterns and things. I can shorten things. I can make a dress out of a scarf.” As for designers she considers “proper,” Moss cites Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano. She also dishes on another of her fashion industry favorites, Peter Lindbergh, who shot her for her Bazaar’s cover, offering some insight into aging gracefully: “Peter is old-school. There aren’t many around like him anymore who really know how to take pictures. I’ve known him since I was 18 and worked with him for Bazaar. He’s into older women, and as I get older, it gets better.” Read the full interview with Kate and see more photos from her cover shoot at harpersbazaar.com.-Emily Hsieh
