What a beautiful ring I really am happy for Nicole she has come a long way and deserves to be happy with Joel…their kids are sooo cute too…good luck Ritchie-Madden family :-)

Wow, how romantic! The bride to be “poured over options and collaborated on the design” of her own engagement ring. Can’t get any more narcissistic than that!!

It’s beautiful. Nicole and Joel seem like wonderful people and are dedicated to their kids and to each other.

“Nicole wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design,” LMAO, she probably foot the bill too.

What ever happened to being surprised by the proposal & the ring? Was he afraid what he picked out she wouldn’t like or something? I think it is lame she did the design herself.

Sign of the times !!

I am kind of dissapointed she has all that input into the ring. I think its okay to share what style you like but its great to let the guy take it from there. Part of the excitement is not knowing a proposal is coming or exactly what kind of ring you will receive. Either way, the ring is gorgeous and I wish them luck!

I have to agree with all of the previous posters, there is nothing special about designing your own engagement ring. Now if Joel had spent a month pouring over options, I would feel completely different about it. And I wonder who paid for it?

What’s the big deal if she did design the ring? I picked out my own engagement ring and wedding band and my husband picked out his ring. This is a ring you will wear for the rest of your life and you might as well be happy with what you get – it doesn’t mean any less if the ring was designed by the bride to be or picked out by the groom to be. Not all proposals are surprises anyway as a lot of couples move towards marriage naturally and the ring comes after a lot of discussion regarding marriage.

umm..pineapple it would be narcissistic if she on her own decided to design her “dream ” ring, but if you read carefully you would see that b/c joel wanted her to have the ring she always wanted her he left it up to her alon w/neil lane the ring designer…i think that they’re really cute together and she really has come a long way-congrats to them both!
