No Fashion Week for Tina Fey: 'I Feel Like I'd Get Busted'

March cover girl Tina Fey might tell Vogue that she’s “represent[ing] normalcy in some way.” But there is nothing ordinary about her incredible sense of humor and ability to be self-deprecating above all else, whether joking about being out of place at Fashion Week (“I get invited to fashion shows,” says Fey, “but I feel like I’d get busted if I went to them. People would be like, ‘Who you tryin’ to be?'”), or accepting the criticism for her much-maligned Zac Posen dress at this year’s Golden Globes. “Do you think George Clooney will hold a telethon for my dress?” she jokes. But she does explain that she’s figured out in general what works — and what doesn’t — in terms of dressing. “I am a fan of the deep V. These are the things I learned from my friends who are cutter/drapers: I have an hourglass figure; I do have a waist, but I have full hips and I have decent shoulders. So that V is good for me. Not good on me? Spaghetti straps. It looks like when you tie up a roast before you put it in the oven.” And lest we think that she’s dressing strictly for red carpet critics, she explains the age-old truth that women dress for each other. “I think women dress for other women to let them know what their deal is. Because if women were only dressing for men, there would be nothing but Victoria’s Secret. There would be no Dior.” It’s all a long way up from her favorite childhood outfit of a hand-me-down colonial costume. “It consisted of a bonnet,” says Fey, “and a burlap apron and a long skirt. And I would just wear it sometimes after school. As an outfit… It was the Bicentennial! People were excited!” Read more of Tina’s hilarious and candid interview at vogue.com.

Not a huge Vogue fan, but I LOVE TINA!! Will be buying this mag.

A true beauty! Her humor is unlike anyone else. How could anyone not be a Tina Fey fan?

LOVE LOVE LOVE Tina Fey!!! :)

Frederika on

She looks gorgeous on that cover! and she is hysterically funny. I am a huge fan.

b on

um, airbrush much? where is her back? and her arms are twice that “girth”. seriously, these mags need to step away from the airbrush tool in their editing software, geez!

b is right, that picture is awful. It looks like Tina’s face on a 12 year old boy’s body. Once again, somebody got carried away on the “retouching.”

Beauty and rapier sharp humor…Take me!

She avoids spaghetti straps, yet the outfit in the first picture has little more than that for “sleeves.”

And really, “hourglass figure” is a bit of a stretch, at least where airbrushed photos are concerned.

GO Tina!!!! I’m a huge fan…

Tina’s arms are actually thinner in the black-and-white photo than they are in the color cover photo. In the cover photo, she is turned away from the camera more than in the black-and-white photo, thus minimizing our view of her back.

She is the best-looking comedienne since Lucille Ball!

I love Tina! She’s funny & beautiful!

She’s great. Smart, funny, and showing us all that you don’t have to look like a ho to be sexy.

Echaz on

Funny = Smart = Sexy! Love her.

I love Tina Fey, she is so funny and pretty too!

Add me to the list of Tina Fey fan girls!

And I actually LIKED her Golden Globes dress *shrug* But I’d also be one of the ones they are asking “why are you here” at fashion week!

TINA FEY – HOT, HOT, HOT

Tina Fey is so talented — as a comedic writer, actor and (probably) a producer as well. I’m so happy that she was able to take her many talents mainstream and finally get some recognition in front of the camera. For me, Tina represents “real women” in that industry, and I think we need more women like her in Hollywood setting a great example.

Tina Fey is such a joke. She talks about girls being nice to each other and being strong and ignoring bullies who pick on how they look. Look at her with her gossiping and picking on other women and how she encourages airbrushing. Then again when she preached about girls being nice, she was trying to peddle Mean Girls a few years ago.

She’s a sell-out.

Mouse ears? Never use the props! Doesn’t she watch 30 Rock?

Tina Fey should not worry so much about pleasing Kloe Kardashian Joan Rivers or Julianna on E! They dish about everybody. She is a comedian for gods sake. Sure she is a little dumpy but we have enough no talent Kardashian types who are all of a sudden trend setters? Lord help me……..

Tinay Fey is really good in impersonating Sarah Palin. Great Comedian.~`’
