Victoria Beckham On Being Posh: "I'm Not a Supermodel"

Victoria Beckham is rarely snapped without her super-high heels and oversize shades, but, the star reveals, her “Posh” persona is hardly an accurate portrayal of her. “I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself,” Victoria tells Glamour in their March issue. “When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele.” In fact, Victoria even cops to suffering for her love of fashion, just like the rest of us. Of her signature stilettos, the 35 year-old admits, “Absolutely they hurt. I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.” Following the success of her star-loved line of dresses, Victoria is getting back into the denim game with the spring relaunch of her jeans collection. “I’m such a perfectionist,” she explains of taking a few seasons off from denim design. “I’ve worked really hard [with my team] to get it right.” And this time around, it was all about the silhouette: “Long, slim legs. Really good design. I’m not saying that you’ve got to be a stick to wear them. You can be all different shapes and sizes.” Pick up Glamour‘s March issue, on newsstands February 9, or visit Glamour.com to hear more from Victoria.–Andrea DeSimone and David Yi

Victoria Beckham did a very, very, very smart thing: She started SMILING on American Idol. Very smart.

Smiling on American Idol was the single best thing she could have done for her American Career.

Americans cannot connect to someone who doesn’t smile, and she almost ruined her career here by not smiling. But once she started smiling on American Idol, people started connecting to her, and she seemed likeable for once.

Everyone says how lucky she is to have David as a husband but I think he is equally as fortunate to have her for a wife. I just read another aritcle on her and 99% of the comments were positive. I think she really does have/do it all. She sounds like a great mom, great wife and a great business woman. You never hear of her losing her temper and being mean or rude to ppl and she said her kids are taught manners and even have their our personalized stationary to write their Thank You’s. Many woman could learn a thing or 2 from her. (I’m talking to you Brittney & Kate G.)

I agree that Victoria saved her career here in the USA by her smiling appearances on American Idol where she started to show her personality a bit. (Though she still needs to let her hair down more, literally, a bit more natural would do her well)

For some crazy reason, she almost ruined her chances here in the USA by acting like a stone cold mannequin stick figure all the time. Maybe that goes over well in Iceland, but not here.

I love her. I think her style is amazing. I agree that being on American Idol is one of the best things she could have done. She seems very sweet–I just love listening to her. I think she should have replaced Paula—it makes ALOT more sense than Ellen.
Can’t wait to see the mag

I love Victoria. When she was on American Idol, you definitely got to see the funny, laid back side of her.

I agree. Her presence on Idol has been an unexpected surprise. I never really paid much attention to her but really enjoyed her and she is very beautiful and was great with the contestants and did not take Simon too seriously! Really cool and has an amazing style.

She’s seems nice enough, but I think she’s bought into the idea, like most other people, that beautiful can only be really thin and tall with long legs.

She was also very approachable on Project Runway, and the regular judges had nothing but great things to say about her. She makes it pretty clear she only looks diva but doesn’t act diva.
