WATCH: Kim Kardashian’s Hot New Fragrance Commercial

Last week we gave you an exclusive sneak peek at the print ad for Kim Kardashian’s soon-to-launch eponymous perfume, and now we have the star’s new commercial. Watch Kim in full pin-up girl regalia (the fluffy marabou coat and blush pink lingerie are back, followed by a second outfit consisting of a mostly-unbuttoned white oxford, wide black belt, tap shorts, and oversize bangles) as she perches on a silver ring, with a sultry jazz song playing in the background to complete the retro-sexy vibe. Meanwhile, a narrator calls the viewer to “Step into the limelight and discover captivating beauty, magnetic allure, and enticing femininity,” and to “Experience glamour with Kim Kardashian, the voluptuous new scent.” The fragrance will be available next month at Sephora, and will range in price from $16-65. The Secret to ‘Gossip Girl’ Style? Great Undergarments!

Louis Burgis/Retna

The man behind the fashionable style of Gossip Girl says the secret behind maintaining the cast’s physique is simple: underwear. “There’s a whole under-architecture system that happens on this show and on TV,” Eric Daman, costume designer for the fashion-forward show, told PEOPLE. “There’s a whole architecture that makes your boobs look great and your [rear] look great — just get some really good underwear and you’re good to go.” Daman, who celebrated the recent release of his book You Know You Want It at a bash hosted by Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick at New York’s Henri Bendel, explained that he works closely with the girls to create a unique look for each character. “I’ve been working with them since day one and we have a really great rapport together,” Daman said. “I’ve helped them become fashion icons and they’ve helped me become who I am and it’s a great give-and-take.” Which means that, yes, the actors do get to weigh in on what they wear on-screen as well as find inspiration for their off-screen lives. “I go to fittings with them and they see all these beautiful things and sometimes they say, ‘Oh, I love that. I want to wear that to my next rock concert’ but it’s not necessarily their characters. It’s about making them feel great and look great and staying true to the show,” explains Daman. And the most fun character to dress on the show? “Ed [who plays Chuck Bass],” the designer said. “Just because it’s nice to be able to take men’s fashion to a whole new place. With girls’ fashions, you can always have fun and play with it, but taking straight men’s fashion to this strange, dangerous place with very handsome, rich men drinking bourbon and wearing pink ascots — that’s a very big movement for American men’s fashion.” But there is one show that Daman won’t be designing for anytime soon — reality smash hit Jersey Shore. “No, absolutely not,” Daman joked. “What would I offer to Jersey Shore? They don’t want to look like this. They don’t want to look like Gossip Girl.” And as he points out, “I pretty much have a dream show to style and I would not trade it for the world.” –Joyce Chen

Kate Gosselin Is Keeping Her Locks Long — And Her Options Open

INF

Anyone expecting to see Kate Gosselin return to her former notorious, asymmetrical short hair style is in for a long wait. The reality star says she is loving her new, longer locks. “I love my new hair,” Gosselin tells PEOPLE, adding that she’s particularly enjoying it now that she’s embraced a more naturally curly style. “Curly hair is definitely more ‘me’ and more manageable,” she says. “I learned that almost all hair extensions are curly and by ‘going with’ the curl and adding some more curls, it’s easiest.” The new look, created by celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson and his team, reminds Kate of the last time she had long hair — when she was still in her twenties. “My last long hair endeavor was crazy curly — just like it is now,” she says. “So this feels like the younger me — yay!” Now Kate has almost gotten used to her newest incarnation. “Every day, my hair feels more like it belongs to me, and I am soooo in love — with my hair and Ted Gibson and his awesome staff!” Yet rumors that Kate is set to make another big change are premature. Recent reports that her new reality show with TLC will involve Kate being thrown into various fish-out-of-water scenarios — or, according to other stories, that the show will document Kate re-entering the dating world — are not true, says a network representative. “This is just the latest speculation,” says the rep. “Last week everyone was announcing [that her show would be] ‘Date Kate.’ We are still in development and looking at a number of ideas. When we have determined what the show will be, you will hear directly from us.”

Rihanna Dishes on Her Glam Team and “Really Personal” Album

Craig McDean/ W Magazine

How do you style a fashion icon for a cover shoot? In labels like Gucci, Dior and Van Cleef & Arpels if you’re putting together Rihanna‘s edgy spread for the February issue of W. The singer tells the magazine that she is embracing her new status as a role model following her assault by then-boyfriend Chris Brown: “I feel like this happened to me so I could be a voice for young girls who are going through what I went through and don’t know how to talk about it.” Coincidentally or not, her look has gotten tougher over the past year—with more spikes, studs and cut-outs than ever—as has her music. Rihanna tells W, “This was a different type of record for me. It was really personal; it was for me in the most authentic way. It’s like a movie in that when I was making the album, every day I was in a different mood. Sometimes I was pissed off, sometimes I was miserable, and every song brings out a different story,” she says, before admitting, “It’s still hard to listen to certain songs.” But one trapping of fame always makes her smile, admitting the best part of her day is “when I’m with my glam team getting my hair and makeup done — we talk so much s—!” For more of her latest pictorial, shot by Craig McDean, including this moody image in a glossy Dior python coat, check out the February issue of W on newsstands January 26, or visit wmagazine.com.

What the ‘Glee’ Cast is Wearing to the Golden Globes

Michael Buckner/Getty Images for InStyle

Our favorite new posse of high school musicians is getting a glam makeover, just in time for Sunday’s Golden Globes awards show. InStyle hosted a party for the cast of Glee to celebrate their nominations, and co-stars Cory Monteith, Lea Michele and Dianna Agron gave the magazine a glimpse into what to expect on the red carpet. “I usually wear black, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with color,” Michele hinted. She’s not the only one who’s excited to wear her gown. Describing the moment she found hers, Agron says, “It was kind of the wedding dress moment when you try it on and go, ‘Oh my God, I think this is it!’” Like his character, Finn, Monteith is humble in the spotlight: “I’m wearing a Hugo Boss tux,” he divulges. “I [had help] because left to my own devices I’d wear a burlap sack. I can’t compete with George Clooney!” For more from the Glee team, see instyle.com, and of course, check back here for all the awards show news and styles.
