EXCLUSIVE: Behind the Scenes at Josh Holloway’s Sexy Cool Water Shoot

Courtesy Davidoff Cool Water

Josh Holloway is venturing into modeling again, stepping in front of the camera for the second time for Davidoff Cool Water cologne for the scent’s newest campaign. The ads will feature the 40-year-old star looking tanned, buff, brooding and shirtless with the sea as a backdrop — just like his character Sawyer on Lost. “I am very honored to represent Davidoff Cool Water again for this new campaign. Cool Water represents power, masculinity and freshness. That’s what the ocean is to me. The power of Cool is back!” says Holloway in a statement. The Hawaii resident and extreme-sports fan continues, “I love Cool Water because it is simple, powerful and timeless. To me, the Cool Water man is not someone who is trying to be cool, he is someone who is comfortable with his masculinity.” The campaign was shot by famed fashion photographer Mikael Jansson on the luscious beaches of Hawaii, with the ads breaking this week. Getty; AP; AP; Abaca

When Brad Pitt first grew in his now infamous goatee, we thought surely it was for a part — or just a personal quirk. But with Hollywood’s hottest hunks sporting everything from Robert Downey Jr.’s neatly trimmed goatee to George Clooney‘s silver scruff to Jon Hamm’s full-out beard, we can see now that Brad was really starting a trend! Clearly this crop of stars is so good-looking that even the worst facial hair couldn’t dim their appeal, but we worry for lesser men if this trend continues. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to just see these guys in all of their clean-shaven glory? Or maybe that’s just our taste. Tell us: Should these guys keep their beards or do you prefer them clean-shaven?

Carey Mulligan Dishes On Her Desire For Long Hair—Despite Her New Look

INF

“I really want long hair,” Carey Mulligan confessed to PEOPLE on Tuesday at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards gala in New York, where she nabbed the Best Actress prize for her role in An Education, “But I don’t have time to grow it out.” Explaining her freshly-shorn, exceedingly close crop, the Brit actress, who was dressed in a sleek black cocktail shift by Prada and dangly Fred Leighton earrings, said, “It was getting all shaggy. It was all growing out. It gets to that horrible stage where you look homeless.” Hairstylist Didier Malige, who has lived with Vogue’s September Issue star Grace Coddington for the last 20 years — did the trim on Mulligan’s already minimalist tresses. Did Mulligan instruct his scissorhands? “No, I just always have ultimate faith that they’ll fix it,” she said. The shade also migrated just a tad. The color was red for her role in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps (co-starring her real-life beau Shia LaBeouf), and “I’ve been saying it’s red all day,” the 24 year-old explained. “But now I think it’s finally brown. . . brunette.” And what if she gets a role that requires long hair? “I’ll wig it,” quipped Mulligan. Olivia Wilde On the Fashion Perks that Accompany the ‘Circus’ of Fame

Tsuni/Gamma

Olivia Wilde ditched her House scrubs in favor of a much more high-fashion look on Monday at the Fox TCA party in Pasadena. Wearing a fitted long sleeved mini dress with a dramatic ruffle on one shoulder, the actress stopped to chat with PEOPLE about how she picks pieces for events. “I just really like Alexander McQueen,” she says of the edgy British designer who made her electric blue shift. “Every designer has samples, and then for this fun stuff, we get to borrow things and I just have certain designers that I like to borrow from.” Being in the spotlight does have its drawbacks too, as the 25 year-old admits, “It’s a circus and you might as well have fun, and so I definitely have kind of decided to rather than kind of resent this whole part of the business because I feel somewhat over it, bored by it, jaded; rather than going in that direction I’ve just decided to have fun with it and just-I don’t know-create something interesting out of it.” All in all, Wilde is circumspect about her rising profile: “It changes the way that you move through the airport, let’s say, or changes the way that you view your privacy but the positive effects are it gives you more creative control and gives you access to things that you didn’t have access to before. So that’s really great.” –reporting by Scott Huver

Sarah Jessica Parker Takes Design Role at Halston Heritage

James Devaney/WireImage

After stepping out in looks from Halston on the Sex and the City 2 set, rumors sparked that Sarah Jessica Parker was about to ink a deal with the company. And now, it looks like the brand has finally gotten “Carrie-d” away. Sarah Jessica will be taking on an active design role, possibly even that of creative director, for Halston Heritage, the company’s just-launched secondary collection that features updated archival Halston pieces at contemporary price points, reports WWD. The company has yet to release details on their decision to add the actress to their team, but one thing is for sure, Sarah Jessica is no stranger to the fashion game. Having reached fashion icon status playing Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw, the actress went on to create the affordable apparel line Bitten for Steve & Barry in 2007. (The line was discontinued a year later.) We can’t wait to see how Sarah Jessica will put her fashion-forward imprint on the label once favored by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy to jet-setters Bianca Jagger and Elizabeth Taylor. Tell us: What do you think of Sarah Jessica’s new role?–Andrea DeSimone
