It seems like everyone has something to say about the facial hair that has taken over the faces of two of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Men Alive. Brad Pitt’s beard has been growing through the winter, while his pal George Clooney kicked off award season with the new look. Eli Roth, who appears with Pitt in Inglourious Basterds, thinks his co-star’s beard is amazing. “That’s like a professional beard,” said Roth at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Hollywood Friday night. “Only Brad can pull off a beard like that.” Meanwhile, Melanie Lynskey, who appears with Clooney in Up In The Air, says she hadn’t seen his new beard but wanted to check it out. “He’s not going to look bad,” she tells PEOPLE. “He could bleach his hair blonde and he wouldn’t look bad!” Another guy whose looks can’t be diminished by facial hair is Jon Hamm, according to Mad Men creator Matt Weiner. “He can get rid of it and grow it again in an afternoon,” Weiner joked about Hamm, who plays the dapper Don Draper. “I told him that he looks like GI Joe, which is quite a compliment. There’s nothing you can do to make that guy look bad, let me tell you.” Vote now on which leading man wears his facial hair best! – Elaine Aradillas

Who cares?! Why is this news?!

Mel on

Isn’t Brad’s for an upcoming movie role???

Who cares, what’s the big deal. It’s facial hair. It can be shaved of…

Jaclyn on

Does this really matter?! First, it is not newsworthy, and second, they are men! They are entitled to have facial hair, movie role or not!

Jennifer on

No this isn’t newsworthy… but more improtantly why are you coming to People for serious news stories. Try CNN.

Mindy on

Jennifer read my mind!

Jaclyn on

I was following Delana’s post. I do go to CNN for “serious” news. I meant this is not news for People.

It’s all in good fun. Personally I think Brad looks a little creepy with his. George’s beard on the other hand looks nice and neat. I think he looks better without it, but I would take him either way!

Can’t stand Brad Pitt – wierd beard or not!! Where’s some REAL news?

Kim on

I heard a crazy rumor that they were getting ready to play the Smith Brothers in an exciting new bio about the cough drop magnates. Obviously, Brad will play “Mark,” while George, with the fuller beard, will play “Trade.” Expect to see them both nominated for Oscars next year.

I don’t like Brad Pitt’s breard….it’s to shaggy. Maybe if he cleaned it up a bit and make some sense of it…it might look alright. George Clooney’s is ok…at least it looks clean not dirty.

GEORGE I’LL TAKE ANY WAY HUNK OF A MAN, BRAD NEVER DID ANYTHING FOR ME AND NOW EVEN LESS.

Cindy on

Well, anything to get some news I guess. All I know is that they still look hot not matter what.

Penny on

They are both adorable! Facial hair is irrelevant. Look below the surface, people!!
Happy Friday!

Jem on

Yup, George, like Jon Hamm, would look good in a mullet. Brad, on the other hand, needs all the help he can get, and that scraggly facial hair ain’t helpin’.

Carla on

At least George’s is neatly trimmed. Brad’s is just scruffy. They’re both too handsome to cover their faces with hair.

Not that this sh*t matters but GC’s beard looks good Brad’s looks like he’s tired taking care of all them kids and got lazy. But enuff already. Donate to Haitian relief and not at Starbucks as Tyra said they won’t send coffee to the Marines “they don’t support the war”Well support the troops not the war.

Who cares is right! Although, George could wear anything and I would still love him :-)
On the other hand, I ignore anything dealing with Brad since he deserted Jennifer!! He does not exist in my book I do not care how much good he does. Thanks for letting me put my feelings out there!

Pitt looks like general george custer

Sorry, but Pitt looks like a bum. No, he cannot “pull it off”. George clooney looks ok with a beard. some men are ok with it – some aren’t, like Pitt.

We love the facial hair here in southern Oregon! It definately gives and edge to their look…! so hot!

This topic isn’t worth an article..but I will comment. George takes care of his beard etc and looks good. Brad looks like a well dressed billy goat.

Sandra on

Facial hair is controversial? Really?

canada girl on

Yes they can do what they want it is their bodies but my opinion Brad is way cuter with out the beard but George looks good with the beard.
Brad also has aged immensely since he started dating Angelina, the last time he was hot was in Mr & Mrs smith

Laura on

Well Brad Pitt could clean his up a bit, it looks bad. George’s looks really nice.

falling alseep on

You mean Pitt’s attention/publicity seeking facial hair. SNOOZE!

Jamie on

Is this news? Well, it’s not REAL news, but this isn’t exactly the place for that, now is it? If you’re looking for real news here, I’m guessing there are bigger issues to address.

I like George’s beard because it is clean and looks groomed. Brad’s beard looks horrible all scraggly. Even when he was married to Jennifer Aniston, he would sometimes let his beard and hair grow out and he looked horrible. Then he would clean up and cut his hair and trim up his mustache and beard. Brad needs to trim up his beard. When I see Brad’s beard, I think it looks dirty and scraggly. He can do better then that.
