From Goatees to Full Facial Hair: Are Beards the New Leading Man Must-Have?

When Brad Pitt first grew in his now infamous goatee, we thought surely it was for a part — or just a personal quirk. But with Hollywood’s hottest hunks sporting everything from Robert Downey Jr.’s neatly trimmed goatee to George Clooney‘s silver scruff to Jon Hamm’s full-out beard, we can see now that Brad was really starting a trend! Clearly this crop of stars is so good-looking that even the worst facial hair couldn’t dim their appeal, but we worry for lesser men if this trend continues. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to just see these guys in all of their clean-shaven glory? Or maybe that’s just our taste. Tell us: Should these guys keep their beards or do you prefer them clean-shaven?

I think the Beards are great! Keep them coming, I’m tired of everyone being so “Clean”

I’m going to go with Robert Downey Jr.
John and Brad are both handsome but their beards look really bad. I’m just tired of George Clooney. When it’s Oscar time People magazine goes overboard with their Clooney coverage. It’s unbearable as every other article is about George and his current flame.

Steph I thought oh my gosh People is going to do some ground breaking here and write a article on “beards” Then they showed guys with facial hair. Lets add Hayden Christensen and Orlando Bloom to the arm candy beard list.

Also, ugh at Brad Pitt (although I never got the appeal, even when he was young and attractive) and why isn’t Hugh Jackman or Johnny Depp on the list? They had beard way before these guys! xoxo
