so now do all the VS models have to be skin and boneS? what happened to everyones bodies? no boobs…no butt…..its pretty discusting! her arms look like you could literally break them with a tug. and dont even get me started on that horrible bathingsuit. come on people….

she’s beautiful in a delicate way. she remindws me of a flower girl in the ’60′s. not sure why. i would LOVE to model for VS. to be able to model for my favorite clothing line would be such a dream come true. congrats for her.

Someone please feed this girl a cheese burger for god’s sake. It really makes me sick to my stomach that most men find this HOT. I am a size 8 and no means a fat girl for anyone who thinks I would only say that because I am fat. I don’t think there is anything remoltely attractive about a woman who is scarey skinny. So why do we keep putting them on the covers of all magazines.

Wow, the claws are out! Most of you must be plump and jealous. I carry a few extra pounds, but I can recognize good body tone when I see it. She’s lovely, and I’d love to have her build. Meow!

I personally don’t think she looks too skinny at all. If she feels comfortable within her own skin more power to her. People are so insecure with themselves, we automatically believe a small girl has an eating disorder. I am a size 1 and I work very hard to keep my body the way it is, but in no way do I go hunry. I enjoy food as much as the next person as I’m sure she does as well. Very pretty girl, and I agree she looks like a young Twiggy.

Let me give this man’s view. Sure she has a really cute face but that body is nothing special at all to be putting on the cover of a “Beauty ” magazine. Yes she’s trim but very blah trim. She needs her hips to have more meat! They have to curve out more the way a woman SHOULD. She needs some more meat on her outer thighs and then she would look SO good. Her waist could curve in more too. She’s way to straight lined, like a guy. She needs more curves!

One thing I always loved about Victoria’s Secret is that they used women with curves. This girl is a stick…. Yuck….

Jealous, jealous, jealous is all I can say. If she did have a curvier body I’m sure you’d all be saying what a fatty she was! We all wish we looked that good in a bikini!

She might be a good build for runway, but Victoria Secret? No way! What happened to VS having models that were slim yet curvy and toned. Looks like VS is changing into an industry norm and picking the skinniest, flat girl for their campaigns. They should rethink that and revert back to old ways. Do they seriously think as many people would watch their annual fashion show if there were just a bunch of girls who can’t fill out their bras and look like they might snap walking the runway? People who want to see that go to NY or Milan or LA Fashion Week Shows. What made VS models so sexy was their curves and how they were different than everyone else in the modeling industry.

Well now some of these comments are ridiculous – she most certainly is pretty and her belly is by no means “distended”. In fact, I think her abdomen is the only part of her body that seems to have good muscle tone.

That said, WOW – her arms look like sticks. She is a little too thin for my taste. And her chest and hips certainly aren’t rubenesque. One thing I liked about VS and SI are that they feature a curvier image of beauty, eschewing the waif or “heroin chic” looks. But this chick is certainly a waif look that I don’t think fits the brand well. Maybe it’s just the shot they chose. (shrug)

I agree – the girl is a stick insect. And I think I can make that comment without any jealousy. I am thin myself with curves, and would NEVER trade my figure for hers – ever.
From far away you couldn’t tell if she is a women or boy.

For all those saying that if we are critical we must be jealous or fat, come on! In a lot of our cases that is not true. We are not saying that she isn’t a pretty girl, we are saying that she by no means has the body of a Victoria Secret Angel! VS has marketed themselves as having curvier (yet still skinny) models who ooze sex appeal. Lindsay may have a gorgeous face and slim body, but in no way looks like a VS model. So, perhaps the critique is more of Victoria Secret than of Lindsay herself.

Twiggy and Goldie Hawn already owned and exhausted this look. Some things should be left in the past, this trend should not be replicated. While our country needs to get its eating habits revamped we don’t need to do so by encouraging anorexia. There are extremely thin women by genetics but they are in the serious minority. Is this the goal? To flaunt the unattainable or to inspire mimicry?

Wow, how did this girl make the cover. She has no shape whatsoever. Is this the best they could come up with. Sorry, nothing to look at.

No one is jealous here. We are all sick of seeing WAY TOO SKINNY GIRLS in magazines. It’s a bad mindset to be in,& it’s boring.She’s cute, not pretty and her body is not attractive. Dan had it right- my husband would agree with him. Men like to see women who look like women (w/ curves) not like 12 yrs olds. I happen to like my body. I’m not stick thin, I’m muscular, 5ft 1in 126lbs, I workout 6 days a week for an hour and half ea. time. I will never look like this girl, but I don’t want to either. Where are the women that look like the real population????

For anyone who thinks she looks good or suits Victoria Secret google search her name and look at the images and find the one of her walking the runway at the Victoria Secret fashion show (she is wearing a cowboy hat). Her hip bones are pretruding and she doesn’t come close to filling out her bra. Not a look I expire to have!

When are these designers going to learn? How are you supposed to know what this swimsuit will look like on a normal weight person, if all they use are boney models! I would love to buy their stuff, but can never tell how it would look on me! Tottaly ridiculous. AND the camera adds 10 pounds… haha!!

Isn’t that swimsuit an almost exact copy of one from a 1960′s LIFE magazine fashion shot? I recall it in one of my parents’ picture books.

Oh yeah, and I really hope the model used some of the money she earned from this to purchase food. I thought VS used curvier women for their catalogs… guess not anymore.

I think she has a beautiful face. It’s not her we should be angry with or hating on, it’s Victoria Secret and the modeling industry that encourage this look to be “the right look”.

I’m really disappointed at their choices for the new models they pick. No curves and not even attractive….what is going on at Victorias Secret? How disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!

I agreed with most of the comments that this girl is not a representation of us “normal” girls. I like VS clothes/swimwear but really who among us is going to wear this suit? Most of us who have children would NEVER buy this suit. Even when I was 19 I wouldn’t have worn this suit. Much too risque for me and I would think most other women.

I think she has a pretty face. But her body does not look attractive at all in this picture. It could just be the suit that she has on idk? There just is nothing sexy about the way she looks. I’m surprised VS would go with this picture for their cover.

Yikes! I love a great swimsuit model. But honestly- she is so thin it isn’t pretty at all. Her face and hair are lovely but she would be a knockout with 10-15 more lbs! Bring back the models like Elle- she was a true swimsuit model- beautiful, sexy, athletic and you would want to hang out and have a beer with her : )

She is a “cute” girl and way too skinny. I agree with the posts about this young lady setting a bad example for our young daughters. Yes, we need to control obesity and we need to control anexoria, which is clearly where this young lady is headed if the photo is not just way over-photoshopped. That could be the case here everyone. If VS is letting shots be over-photoshopped and accepting this kind of look to display for our young daughters, then shame on VS is all I can say.

She’s thin but I think she’s just naturally that way. I don’t think she has an eating disorder or anything. I’m almost 5’10″, about 122 lbs and would LOVE to gain about 10-15 lbs. I’m just not able to do it. I have stick thin arms and legs like hers and I would do anything to thicken them up a bit. Not every thin woman has an eating disorder, some of us just can’t keep weight on. Why can’t women of every weight be respected? Why make fun of her? Some of the comments about her are so harsh!

everyone here is entitled to their own opinions on what beauty is. bottom line is no matter what lindsay looks like, or what model it would have been on that cover, there still would have been people commenting on how NOT right she would be for it. this society only thrives on tearing people down from their success no matter how gorgeous or not gorgeous they are, and its sickening. its 2010, instead of comments on how bony she is and to eat something, make a comment to congratulate her for her success. Some of you still work your regular 9-5 office job and only dream of being able to book a job similar to this,so ask yourself why you are hating so much on this beautiful girl, while secretly or openly complaining to peers and yourself about how out of shape you are, and how you are going to lose weight for the new year, etc..
get a sense of reality people – its comments made by those ignorant folks that pushes this society into acting aggressively towards those in the spotlight.

IMO and from someone who works w/ her – lindsay looks gorgeous and is the most down to earth person. dont forget that no matter how “bony” she is, and “extended” her belly is or whatever other lame comment you all have at her, she is still a young sweet woman who has feelings too.

Boy the green eyed monster is thriving. Jealousy is a horrible thing.

This girl is beautiful, slim, and healthy. Not everyone’s body functions optimally at 200 pounds…in fact, most bodies don’t. I don’t see any skin and bone on her…I see muscle, toned abs, smooth skin, healthy hair…clearly the signs of an eating disorder, right?

Congratulations to her for making the cover. Chubby women can hate all they want, but hating won’t solve their own issues with their bodies and insecurities.

I am not going to sit here and say I agree or disagree with anyone because as someone pointed out earlier it is an endless debate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whatever that may be. I would however, like to point out that while many of you feel she is too skinny, if there was a woman on the cover who weighed 170 lbs. would society as a whole find that attractive? Most people would not. So while we can all sit here and judge, if we think she is too skinny, the point of sexy girls in skimpy clothing is to provide somewhat of motivation to be thin and healthy. I am not saying women should weigh a certain weight and walk around starving themselves, but lets face it, we are one of the fattest nations in the world. If a pretty and petite woman on the cover of a magazine motivates someone out there to get in shape and excercise and eat healthy, I think in some way, shape, or form the company has succeeded in not only selling their product but has changed someone’s life style. I am 115 lbs. but when I look at this picture it motivated me to get my abs into shape, and be able to have a toned body for the summer; and before anyone gets spun up about this comment, I would also like to point out that there are plenty of “heavier” women who are gorgeous. Whitney from cycle 10 of America’s Next top Model is gorgeous, Trya Banks, so on and so fourth. Unfortunately in today’s society, most everyone wants to see a slender woman on a cover and not someone who we would call “plump”.

I think she’s beautiful – slender and delicate. I for one am tired of people assuming that because a woman is slender, even ‘skin and bones’, that means she is anorexic. If you support magazines using models that are plus-sized because they are “real women”, you should also acknowledge that there are women who look like this naturally, and that you can’t know if that’s true of her. I myself am 21 years old, 5’8″, and 120lbs. I can’t make myself gain weight, and people say I’m ‘skin and bones’. I’m a real woman, too, so just be comfortable in your own skin, and don’t bash girls who are skinny because you’re not.

I do to think she is not one to wear the brand that supposed to be for grown women…then at that they get females with a body of a 15yr old girl like come on im not fat nor am I that thin im perfect….but I don’t know maybe seeing all these commets will open there eyes and they will go back to there old ways or step their game up and get real women like me…to the person who said they don’t want to see a fat person in a swimsuit what if your daughter was fat wouldn’t you want her to have someone to look up to and tell her that real women don’t look like that we have curves boobs and a little ass come on people start thinking about your kids and what you want them looking up to and she is not it…

Today I’m done with Victoria Secret for good. I am putting my foot down. I have emailed my friends too. I got in the mail today the Swim ’10 catalog and you might as well label this Victoria Secret’s CHILD PRONOGRAPHY. The girl on the cover looks like a child. I am a mother of 9 year old boy/girl twins and a 10 month old. I hold a college degree, I have worked for a Fortune 100 company and now I am a stay home mom. I am embarassed to get this catalog. You should be ashamed of yourself for portraying beauty and fashion in this way. There is not enough space, nor do I have the patience to type out exactly how I feel about this. Just know, I will Facebook, Email, and Talk to ALL my friends. We must stand up when something is wrong and this is WRONG!!! Let me also say this…I am physically fit, I care about my appearance, my fashion, and being a good role model for my daughter and her friends. My son too, I don’t want him to see this as “beauty”. I am not a frumpy out of shape housewife who is just bitter that I don’t look like the girl you have gracing the cover of your magazine. I am disgusted that teenage girls and young women look at your magazine as a benchmark…one they will not achieve unless they are 13 or bulemic or anorexic. SICK SICK SICK. Rather, BARF!

It’s a joke to read any negative comments about this girl. She is unreal and as a male personal trainer I can tell that she’s in very good shape and is hot as he**. I guarantee that most of her body type is due to genetics (sorry people) and the rest is watching what she eats and exercising. Something all of us can do a bit more of instead of sitting on our a** staring at our computers writing negative statements about beautiful girls.

She has the body of a 10 year old boy. Perhaps one of these days VS will listen to all of our comments about how starving models just don’t do it for anyone anymore. I believe women AND men would rather see someone of a more average body weight promoting VS apparel. If you’re selling size large apparel, why only promote size XS? If I were VS’s ad agency, I’d focus on the actual VS bag (you know, it’s well branded as the pink stripes). Men’s reaction to the bag alone is more intense than their reaction to any model. Why? Because they know there’s something super sexy inside that bag for them to enjoy on the real woman in their life ;-)

What are you people’s issues with skinny girls?! just because someone’s tiny doesn’t meen they’ve got some kind of eating dissorder! I’m tiny too and i have to really work to keep wieght ON, some girls might just have a naturally over active metabolism.
