Meet Victoria’s Secret 2010 SWIM Cover Girl Lindsay Ellingson

Victoria’s Secret has a long history of turning models into supermodels — and Angels! — and their latest pick for greatness is Lindsay Ellingson, who graces the cover of their new 2010 SWIM catalogue in nothing but a daring “topless” bikini. The California girl felt at home on her shoot on the beach on gorgeous Necker Island, calling it “really an experience of a lifetime!” Lindsay explains, “It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. We shot the cover in the evening during sunset. It was really a magical setting.” Having already walked the runway for designers such as John Galliano, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, you might think the beauty might be jaded, but she tells PEOPLE that she is thrilled to be chosen for the cover, saying “Being chosen for the cover is one of the most exciting things that has happened in my career. Being a Victoria’s Secret model means so much to me. The greatest thing about being a VS model is that I get to be myself and show who I am.” And as for showing off her own sensational form, she tells PEOPLE that she was totally comfortable in her sexy suit, with or without the top on! “So, on the cover I’m wearing a “topless” bikini with a removable bandeau [pictured on]. We shot it both ways, with and without the bandeau. I felt great in it and my hair covered me when I shot topless so I wasn’t uncomfortable at all.” She elaborates, “I actually got so comfortable I was dancing around on the beach — of course, with the bandeau. I would wear it if I was back on Necker Island on my own private beach!” The 2010 Victoria’s Secret SWIM catalogue hits mailboxes this week. –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

I love VS they have some BEAUTIFUL models but this picture isn’t so nice. She is just to thin maybe they should have used someone who has a little more curves….It would have filled out the swimwear.

For anyone who thinks she looks good or suits Victoria Secret google search her name and look at the images and find the one of her walking the runway at the Victoria Secret fashion show (she is wearing a cowboy hat). Her hip bones are pretruding and she doesn’t come close to filling out her bra. Not a look I expire to have!

She has a very ’60 Mod look and an alluring face, but sadly it comes with the Twiggy body. I love VS because they are one of the few that make clothes for girls with boobs and hips, please don’t let them fall to the fashion ‘standards’. With this embracing of different body types magazines are pushing, it is ironic that VS would go the opposite way!

Wow guys! Jealous much?! She is not too skinny…I think she looks great.

I don’t want to attack her weight because at that point it’s a lose lose situation. She has feelings as well. And yes, a lot of people would rather have her body and be really thin than be overweight. However, in the past few years VS has gotten progressively thinner and thinner models to shoot for their catalogue. She is by far the thinnest, least healthy looking, and least representative of the actual woman than any of the past models. It’s sad that these models now have no boobs and no asses. It’s sad that runway, which understandably wants stick like women (easy fit, interchangibility, and never taking away from the clothes) has taken become the standard for female models. Bottom line, VS services multiple types of women, let your models be somewhat representative of that, and stop showing size 00.. or much more kids waists models when that is not a normal nor healthy size for most women.

Those complaining that she is skinny–you’re all just jealous. Put the turkey leg down!

Karen on

The people that call people ‘jealous’ because they have critical comments are just as bad as those that criticize because they are jealous. She doesn’t fit the expectation of a VS model, period. That doesn’t stop her from being beautiful, just a wrong fit.

she is pretty but poor girl needs to eat. way to skinny……

She is just beautiful! I love her look! That said some readers would suggest that everyone who says she’s too skinny is just envious, that is hardly the truth! She is WAY to thin. As I have a daughter I do not wish her to aspire to this type of body. VS and all publications should have more models with “real” figures. A mix of all body types would be a refreshing change!

That’s not sexy..that’s scary and sad. Very boyish..its a stick figure with something black painted on it
