Carrie Underwood Debuts Her Engagement Ring!

Sean Kilpatrick/The Canadian Press/AP

Carrie Underwood certainly has a lot to smile about this holiday season. The newly engaged 26 year-old country singer turned up at her fiancé Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher’s game last night flashing some major sparkle on her left hand. A spokesperson from the Diamond Information Center estimates the brilliant round diamond comes in at whopping five-plus carats, with an estimated value of close to $150,000. Whew! Underwood, who famously declared her affection for her beau in the liner notes of her recent album, Play On (“I love you so much!” she wrote. “You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day.”), accepted Fisher’s proposal on Sunday, following a year-long courtship. -Emily Hsieh

Eva Longoria Parker To Launch Her Own Signature Scent

Sara De Boer/Startraks

Eva Longoria Parker literally couldn’t stand wearing other peoples’ fragrances, so the actress and L’Oréal spokesperson took matters into her own hands, coming up with her just-announced trademark scent, Eva by Eva Longoria: “I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear,” she says. “So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that.” According to WWD, the Desperate Housewives star was heavily involved in the evolution of her new aroma, rejecting many potential combinations before settling on one that incorporates citrus, violet, freesia and sandalwood notes. “I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” said Longoria Parker. “But I enjoyed the process.” The perfume, housed in a curvy bottle meant to mimic the contours of a woman’s body, will debut in more than 1,000 stores worldwide in April, retailing for $45-$58. Expect more to follow, as the manufacturer has already announced plans to roll out additional fragrances bearing Eva’s name. For more on her perfume launch, see wwd.com. Lisa Loeb Debuts A New Collection Of Eyewear

Justine Ungaro & SOTA Dzine

Though Lisa Loeb rose to fame as a singer, she’s probably just as well known for her eyeglasses. Loeb is finally cashing in on her signature look, partnering with Classique Eyewear on a line of frames called “The LL Collection.” “People have been asking me about my eyewear style for years. Finally I decided – why not design my own line – so other people can see the world like I do,” she says. The new series includes streamlined pieces in black and tortoiseshell, as well as embellished options punctuated with rhinestones and etchings. “I worked with Classique Eyewear to design a line that represents the look I love: one that can be worn from day into night, that’s classic but stylish, that frames the face and lifts the eyes, but doesn’t speak before you have a chance to,” she declares. The star goes on to describe her aesthetic: “My eyewear generally has a cat-eyed look. Think sexy librarian, not retro grandma,” and says that her new collection was created largely for “women with style,” but that “some frames are more unisex and could look cute on stylish men, too!” Each item is named after one of her songs, and will be available for purchase in spring of next year.
