Details of Carrie Underwood’s Engagement Ring: Big, Yellow, and Sparkly All Over!

Sean Kilpatrick/The Canadian Press/AP

More details have emerged about Carrie Underwood’s gorgeous engagement ring. The sizeable center stone, first spotted when Underwood flashed her ring while cheering on fiancé Mike Fisher and the rest of his Ottawa Senators teammates at their Monday night game, is actually a flawless yellow diamond, designed for her by jeweler Johnathon Arndt, who said in a release, “This ring is a symbol of love from Mike Fisher to Carrie Underwood,” as he wished the couple congratulations. This isn’t the first time the American Idol alum has worn Arndt’s baubles: back in 2007 at the Country Music Awards, the 26 year-old performed her hit “So Small” in a diaphanous canary yellow chiffon gown bedecked with the jeweler’s twin imperial jadeite and diamond butterfly pins worth a staggering six million dollars! ‘Sex and the City 2′ Trailer Premieres!

Is this Sex and the City or Sex and the Desert? The first teaser trailer for Sex and the City 2 hit the internet this week, and it looks like the girls will be roaming far from the bright lights of New York in the sequel, which opens this spring. The trailer’s opening scenes show Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda happily in their element, flitting around New York to the tune of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ Gotham anthem, “Empire State of Mind.” But things are about to change. “It’s been two years,” Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie says in a voiceover. “And in two years, amazing things can happen. Things you thought would never happen in a million years. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, it hits you. You haven’t seen anything yet.” Suddenly, the scene shifts to a dusty foreign land — reportedly, Morocco — as the ladies are seen wafting through deserts on camels and on foot (in designer sandals, no doubt). “Sometimes, you just have to get away with the girls,” Carrie explains. To learn more, you’ll have to wait for the next trailer — or the movie itself, which opens May 28. Tell us: Are you excited to see Sex and the City 2? –Tim Nudd

Racing Star Danica Patrick Is On Track To Debut Her Own Perfume

Frazer Harrison/Getty

Move over, Beyoncé and Eva! Auto racing phenom Danica Patrick is the latest celebrity to jump on the fragrance bandwagon. The 27 year-old Indy competitor is scheduled to launch her signature scent, Danica Patrick for Her, in mid-March, when the eau de parfum lands in 750 stores across the country. Look out for the Illinois native to promote the line at NASCAR events next spring, as she gears up for the next Indianapolis 500 (where she’ll hopefully beat the personal best she set by coming in 3rd place earlier this year—the highest finish ever by a woman). The perfume will retail between $29.50 for a purse-size vial and $54.50 for the 3.4 ounce bottle. For more on the launch, go to WWD.com. What Michael, Donna, Christian and More Want for Christmas!

If you could have anything you want for Christmas, what would it be? New York’s The Cut posed the question to the fashion industry elite, and the responses ranged from humble to wildly over-the top. The sisters behind the incredibly popular Rodarte line erred on the side of the former, confessing cravings for “antique red and white glass mushroom tree ornaments,” (Kate Mulleavy) and “a velveteen rabbit,” (Laura Mulleavy), as did Donna Karan, who is hoping for “time off.” Meanwhile, Christian Louboutin covets “Barry Diller’s plane,” and Michael Kors has big dreams for a “large Jackson Pollack painting, my own island, and a diary free of appointments.” Read more about designers’ wish lists at nymag.com.
