Eva Longoria Parker literally couldn’t stand wearing other peoples’ fragrances, so the actress and L’Oréal spokesperson took matters into her own hands, coming up with her just-announced trademark scent, Eva by Eva Longoria: “I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear,” she says. “So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that.” According to WWD, the Desperate Housewives star was heavily involved in the evolution of her new aroma, rejecting many potential combinations before settling on one that incorporates citrus, violet, freesia and sandalwood notes. “I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” said Longoria Parker. “But I enjoyed the process.” The perfume, housed in a curvy bottle meant to mimic the contours of a woman’s body, will debut in more than 1,000 stores worldwide in April, retailing for $45-$58. Expect more to follow, as the manufacturer has already announced plans to roll out additional fragrances bearing Eva’s name. For more on her perfume launch, see wwd.com. How is her scent going to be any different from the hundreds of other scents by celebs??? I mean really! The celebrity perfume/cologne market is already oversaturated.

She refuses to wear other celebs scents only because she wants one herself! She was wearing SOMEBODY’s perfume before she concocted her own, hypocritical b****!

ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!! We’re all sick and tired of celebrity fragrances. Ladies, just stick with Estee Lauder, Lancome, etc… – you really can’t go wrong with the French classics, and there are some great Italian perfumes as well.

Odd…she comes out with this fu fu water after she marries a sweaty, running athlete. Is she trying to tell him something?

I’m amazed that we’re all on the same page. Celebrity fragrances are so overrated. They need to STOP!! Like other people mentioned, back a charity or make a difference in the world instead of creating a fragrance. There are MILLIONS of fragrances by celebs out there. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

Normally, I’m weary of celebrity fragrances, but the one thing that is getting my attention here is that Eva is allergic to many fragrances. I’m in the same boat as her, because most perfumes just give me a headache. There are actually very few perfumes that I can stand–the only perfume I wear on a daily basis is Fresh Sugar Lychee, which is light and sweet. If Eva’s perfume can pass my headache test, I might pick it up!

I actually smelled this in Glamour magazine yesterday and I think it smells great. I do agree that 99% of celebrity scents stink but I may actually buy this one!
