FIRST LOOK: The Practice‘s Marla Sokoloff’s Wedding Dress

Jules Bianchi

When The Practice‘s Marla Sokoloff married music composer Alec Puro at Il Cielo restaurant in Beverly Hills over the weekend, everything was picture perfect, from tables laid with dark red roses and tea lights created by celebrity florist Mark’s Garden to the free-flowing champagne and wedding cake from Buttercake Bakery. The bride herself was no exception. “Marla looked beyond stunning,” said an onlooker of the actress, who dazzled in a strapless silk Amsale gown, cinched at the waist with a black sash and complemented by a flowing veil. “She took a few deep breaths and briefly teared up before she entered the restaurant. She seemed a bit nervous, but still looked very happy.” After exchanging XIV Karats rings, the newlyweds celebrated with revelers who dined on Italian fare. Next stop? Tahiti for a relaxing honeymoon far from the glitz and glamour of L.A.

The Scoop on Katy Perry’s Racy On-Stage Surprise for Russell Brand

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

When Katy Perry wanted to impress her new boyfriend, British comedian Russell Brand, she knew exactly where to turn — the soccer club of his boyhood dreams. And the result? A bustier and hot pants concoction stitched from three XL shirts in the claret-and-blue colors of West Ham, worn onstage while hosting the European Music Awards. The story began more than two weeks before her November 5 appearance at the MTV EMAs when her stylist contacted West Ham, a source at the club in east London says. Katy’s people asked for — and received — the shirts (normal price $50 but given gratis) on October 17. When their handiwork was revealed, it was evident the collar trim of the shirts made for a frill along the top of the bustier, while two of the shirts’ badges were given pride of place on her chest. The made-to-measure kit was one of 12 costume changes that Perry made during the awards show in Berlin — and was a tell-tale sign their flourishing relationship, which has already included a visit to Paris and spending last weekend in London. Brand, 34, is well-known around the club and is said to be “popular amongst the rest of our fans and is regularly stopped coming and going from the ground,” the source says. So Katy knew she was on to a good thing and the result clearly went down well with the burgeoning film star who Tweeted (under his sign-on Rustyrockets), “MY GIRLFRIEND has worn a West Ham basque while hosting the EMA’s. What a day!” No word yet from Katy, 25, on what she thought of how the 100 per cent polyester material felt like onstage. – Simon Perry

Kim Kardashian Hits the Mall and Gives Must-Have Style Tips

Courtesy Westfield Culver City

Looking stylish and glamorous as always, Kim Kardashian helped celebrate fashion by making a personal appearance on Saturday at Westfield Culver City Mall’s “Looks to Love” fashion event in Culver City, CA. Taking photos and signing autographs for more than 100 fans who turned out to the see the E! reality star, Kardashian gave style and beauty tips to shoppers. “Always look put together and well groomed! Don’t leave the house looking messy,” said Kardashian, who noted she loves to shop with her sisters, calling it their bonding time. “Cute blazers are very much in this season especially in a color over some leggings or jeans,” said the star, who copied her advice, wearing a cropped sequin blazer over a long printed top with leggings. What about makeup? Kardashian loves the smokey eye look and the dark lip look, but advised to “pick one or the other.” After the event, the star went shopping at the mall, picking up a couple leopard printed satin robes at one of her favorite stores, Victoria’s Secret. “They would make perfect gifts,” she said. –Kristin Larson

Madonna’s Next Role: Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2010 Model!

Evan Agostini/AP

After two seasons as the face of Louis Vuitton, the Queen of Pop is ready to take on her next high-fashion challenge: modeling for Dolce & Gabbana! The Italian design duo announced on their online magazine Swide.com, that Madonna will be the face of their Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. This won’t be the first time the Italian designers have teamed up with Madonna. They first collaborated with the star back in the early ’90s when they designed the iconic costumes for her 1993 The Girlie Show tour and then, just last year, they designed costumes for her return to the stage during the Sticky and Sweet tour. “To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana tell their online magazine. And with their Sicilian-inspired Spring/Summer collection revisiting iconic pieces, such as their signature corset, it is only fitting that Madonna, who shares an Italian heritage with the designers, brings the collection to life. Madonna’s Dolce & Gabbana ads were shot last week in New York City by photographer Steven Klein. We can’t wait to see the photos! Tell us: Are you excited to see Madonna as the face of Dolce & Gabbana?
