Would You Wear Dreads Like Shakira?

Henry McGee/Globe

Is Shakira heeding the call of the She-Wolf with her new faux-dreadlocks? We love that the sexy star is willing to play with her bombshell image by trying something a little rougher and, dare we say, grungier. But, not all of us have Shakira’s stylist to keep us from getting matted irrevocably. Tell us: Would you try faux dreadlocks like Shakira?

This is the worst thing anyone could do to their hair. It looks corny. Leave that for the rastas and the people who HAVE the hair for that style. It just looks like she is trying too hard to be trendy. Dumb! I have the same kind of strong hair as Shakira (only healthier and not blond). There is no way your hair is going to bounce back without it falling out and having to use treatment after treatment. It looks dumb!

Not a good look girl, please wash those ropes out!

No. Dreadlocks always look dirty.

Never. Classier, more natural styles are much more flattering to everyone.

I really like the new look for her….she’s always been her own person and i like her for that.

YES, I sure would! I wish somebody could do my hair like that but it is to thin. What a bummer.

I love it!!!

Shakira wears it very well – depends on how well they are done, they look great on her, really like the look -

A great style for a different look, tones down her naturally curly, beautiful locks, accentuating her natural beauty – she is gorgeous!

They are not dreads they are twists of hair. I have had real dreads for about for years and no they “don’t always look dirty”

i would totally do it if my hair were longer..anyone know how her stylist might have accomplished this temporarily?
