Ashley Greene on Her Last-Minute Premiere Look: “We Had to Start From Scratch”

Ramey

Twilight’s Ashley Greene might have looked red-hot at last night’s L.A. premiere of the film series’ latest installment, New Moon, but she tells PEOPLE that finding her perfect scarlet Prabal Gurung stunner was no small matter. “We picked a dress out, had it ready,” Ashley says of a different look, which she originally chose with her stylist. But at the last minute, “I decided I didn’t like it and we had to start from scratch.” Just how down to the wire did it get? “I stopped by the tailors right before I got here to pick up the dress,” she admits. The rest of her red-carpet prep, however, was less of an ordeal. For two hours on the Sunday before the premiere, Ashley received eyelash extensions from expert Calma Yom at The Parlour on 3rd and then returned to the salon to have her hair extensions freshened up the following day. As for her bronzed skin, Ashley looked to St. Tropez tanning expert Fiona Locke, who customized and contoured her skin before the big event. The final touch came at the hands of makeup artist Vanessa Scali, who created the ’60s-inspired look for the Twilight star with “well-defined eyes with lots of lashes, a strong brow and clean skin with subtle pink [and] coral cheeks and lips.” Tell us: What did you think of Ashley’s head-to toe premiere style last night? –additional reporting by Lisa Ingrassia

I feel sorry for her stylist. From the way this article is written, it sounds like she’s already exhibiting some diva-like behavior…

I think Ashley is at risk for over exposure. She is all over the place and she is not the star of the movie. It’s a little forced and contrived. Her outfit is a little generic.

She looked amazing just like an A list actress would look like. She looked way better than Kristen. Love the whole look she looks great in red.

she looked drop dead gorgeous – i loved how she was dressed last night that the premiere.

Wow. Hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and “customized contouring” fake tan? I suddenly feel a lot better about NOT looking like a celebrity.

Wow. When I read the article title and saw that she had to “start from scratch,” I assumed that she was explaining why she looked so thrown together. Girl should have stuck with the first dress, because I don’t know how it could have looked any worse than the one she wore. Yipes!

I agree with the earlier posts: Ashley Greene is a little over-exposed and she’s not even the star of this movie. She does look nice but her apparent diva-ish behaviour is a little much considering she’s barely a B-list star

Wow – that’s a lot of work! What a great reminder that most of these red carpet beauties look just like the rest of us when not all faked out!

I thought Ashley looked beautiful but I agree about the over-exposure. Star in a movie Ashley that pulls in $100 million + and then I’ll really listen to what you have to say and be okay with slightly diva-esque behavior. Until then, I don’t want to hear it.

Are we suppose to feel bad for her – hair extensions, tanning, makeup….boo hoo!
