WATCH: Valerie Bertinelli Shares Her Get-Fit Secrets

After getting in bikini-body shape with Jenny Craig earlier this year, Valerie Bertinelli is turning exercise guru, and she took a little time out to talk with PEOPLE why she wanted to launch her new get-fit video, Losing It and Keeping Fit. “So many people asked me how I got in shape. Was it difficult? Was it easy? How did you do it?” she says. And the secret was simple, according to the star. “They’re exercises that anyone can do, anywhere in your home, and I thought, ‘well, why not?’ I don’t like to keep secrets anyway, so I just want people to know how I did it. ‘Why not?’” The biggest benefit to toning up? “My closet isn’t a scary place to go anymore,” she laughs. “I go into my closet and I have more choices than I’ve ever had… So it’s fun for me now.” Watch to hear what the biggest change is in her body since she started the routine and more.

Simmons Sisters Get Sweet with Pastry VIP

Michael Becker

What’s the sweetest thing about the Simmons family? Pastry VIP, the new high-end footwear and clothing line from Rev. Run’s oldest offspring, Vanessa and Angela Simmons. An expansion of their original Pastry Footwear sneaker line, Pastry VIP will feature heels in a more sophisticated and contemporary style. “The pieces are just so original and so outside the box of what anyone is doing,” Vanessa tells PEOPLE. When it comes to fashion, the sisters have some pretty large shoes to fill. Dad Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons created the Run Athletics brand and uncle Russell Simmons is behind mega-brand Phat Farm. “We got the best blueprints from the industry just by paying attention while growing up,” Vanessa says. The sisters run all their designs past their fashionable family, though they admit their dad and uncle aren’t always the best judges when it comes to women’s clothing. Fashion tips aren’t the only things Vanessa and Angela will be missing from Dad. The sisters relocated in January from the family home in New Jersey to Los Angeles where they film their reality show Daddy’s Girls, now in its second season. The new season will follow the sisters as they run their business on the West Coast, which will include highlighting the Pastry line. The stars will debut a series of heels and flats at Macy’s at the beginning of the holiday season. They hope to expand their brand further in the future – after all, it’s in their blood. “It’s the thing that I’ve been interested in since forever,” Angela tells PEOPLE. “I love fashion. Live, sleep, eat, breathe it.” –Jessica Wedemeyer

Kim Kardashian “Plumps Up” for Charity

INF

Leave it to Kim Kardashian to make giving back look as good as it feels. As the host of Lip Fusion’s new Infatuation lip gloss launch at Sephora in Hollywood last Thursday, the reality star got lippy about the plumper — which will donate $1 of each lip gloss’s sale to The Seven Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to combat poverty among women through funding microfinance. “It actually produces the collagen in your lips so that your lips do get plumper over time,” Kim raved to PEOPLE. “They say, like, 28 days and your lips will stay plump, so it’s no needles, no collagen — you don’t need any of that. All you need is the lip plumper.” In addition to her pout plumping secrets, Kim dished on what we can expect from her much anticipated clothing collection with her sisters for Bebe. “Our line is going to be young and edgy but still sophisticated and still sexy. So you’ll see definitely form-fitting is our thing,” she said with a smile. “The designs are very edgy, great shoulder work, great textures with embellishment, and some leather pieces mixed in with other fabrics.”–reporting by Nina Tyler
