Lindsay Lohan’s Paris Fashion Week Debut: “Pretty Much a Fairytale”

Guibbaud Christophe/Abaca

Moments after showing her first collection for Ungaro in Paris on Sunday afternoon, Lindsay Lohan and co-designer Estrella Archs stood together backstage, hugging each other warmly amid the chaos and congratulations at the Louvre showrooms. “I feel like it’s pretty much a fairytale,” Lohan, who signed on as the house’s Artistic Advisor this summer, told PEOPLE. “It’s certainly more than I could have ever imagined, more than I’d ever hoped for.” Her voice absenting into hoarse whispers, she added, “I couldn’t be happier. Seeing everything pulled together, is simply amazing.” Holding tightly to Archs, a veteran Spanish designer, Lohan enthused, “the last five days have just been so crazy, chaotic. And this is just so amazing after working all night, this week in the office together until 1 a.m. and 3 p.m., seeing everything pull together.” And the closeness of the designers is not just for show. “This is a fashion couple,” Moufarrige told PEOPLE. “That’s something which we haven’t seen much in fashion and especially not women designing together.” Leaning into a break from post-show television interviews, Lohan smiled warmly. “I feel so honored,” she told PEOPLE. “I can’t wait to be involved again, to be more involved on the next collections, to continue to please people, add more to the designs, to shock people…” While one fashion writer-attendee told PEOPLE that she thought the show was “very young and true to the spirit of Ungaro. It was a homerun,” the official reviews were more of a mixed bag, with the International Herald Tribune‘s Suzie Menkes writing, “The Emanuel Ungaro show on Sunday may go down in history as the final gasp of celebrity madness” while L’EXPRESS cheered the clothing, “Dresses, sensually cut to the extreme, pants hugging the leg as closely as possible and the cloths dear to Ungaro putting into value an impeccable silhouette, shown off in fuchsia, blue, orange, white and black.” –Peter Mikelbank

EXCLUSIVE: Tory Burch Dishes on Filming Gossip Girl with Blake Lively

CW/Giovanni Rufino/Landov

Tyra Banks and Hilary Duff won’t be the only famous guest stars on tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl – designer Tory Burch will be making her acting debut as well. And while she was hush-hush about the plot, she was ready to dish about what it was like to work with Blake Lively and the rest of the cast. “I have never acted before, so I was a little nervous about messing up my line. Blake made me laugh and put me at ease though, and the crew was so gracious,” Tory tells PEOPLE exclusively. Though Tory’s scenes weren’t filmed in her actual office, the designer tells us that the set was a dead ringer. “They did an incredible job recreating my office, down to the books I have on my Lucite shelves and framed photos of my boys!” This time around Tory didn’t get a chance to dress Gossip‘s leading ladies, but the designer definitely has some ideas on what she would like to see Blake’s Serena van der Woodsen and Leighton Meester‘s Blair Waldorf wear from her real-life fall collection (click through to see them). “Serena’s style is sophisticated yet rebellious,” says Tory. “I think she’d live in these leather leggings, and pair them with an embellished top and oversized vest. It’s a cool, sexy look that Serena could wear uptown, downtown, and everywhere in between.” As for Blair: “[She] has a quirky ladylike style and looks great in contrasting colors, prints and textures. The booties and leather driving gloves add just the right amount of edge to this feminine look. I would add a custom-made headband that would be cool enough even for college.” We can’t wait to see Tory Burch on Gossip Girl tonight! Love her picks for Serena and Blair? Shop them here. Ivanka Trump’s Diamond Philosophy: “The Bigger the Better”

Courtesy InStyle by Douglas Friedman

What girl doesn’t love diamonds? For jewelry designer and heiress Ivanka Trump, her love affair with the gems started early. “The first important piece of jewelry I ever got was a diamond necklace my mom gave me from her collection when I turned 21,” Ivanka tells InStyle in their October issue. “Part of our bonding as I grew up was watching her accessorize for a night out.” So the decision to design jewelry was a natural one, says Ivanka: “Clothing has less of an immediate appeal to me. Jewelry is more than an accessory. In fact, a dress is an accessory to the jewelry,” she continues. This philosophy is evident in the way the diamond designer keeps her clothing classic and conservative. “I’m not afraid to be over-the-top with jewels. As far as diamonds go, the bigger the better,” she says. And though she likes her diamonds big — fiance Jared Kushner proposed to her with a 5-carat stunner he designed himself– Ivanka cautions against accessorizing with too many jewels at once. “I also don’t believe that layering creates the look. It’s not about how many jewels you can wear at once.” Get more tips on accessorizing with diamonds from Ivanka as well as a glimpse into her personal collection of baubles in the October issue of InStyle– on newsstands now.

David Beckham Launches His Adidas Clothing Collection: “It’s My Style”

Landov

Victoria might have been the first Beckham to turn designer, but at an event this week, her husband proved he could hold his own with the launch of his debut men’s line. Giving David center stage, Victoria supported her husband as he unveiled the David Beckham by J. Bond Collection for Adidas’s Originals by Originals line in L.A. Despite his wife’s impressive design experience, the soccer star tells PEOPLE that Victoria wasn’t involved in his design process. His three little boys, however, did weigh in: “They are always so honest,” says David. “We stuck things in front of them to see how they’d react.” Their favorites? “They reacted really well to the sneakers.” As for his own top picks from the collection, the soccer star is equally enthusiastic about each of the designs. “It’s my style. I wanted to create something that everybody could wear whether it be going to practice, or the gym in the morning, or going for a coffee or going out to dinner at night,” David tells us. And although we were hoping that David would strip down for his own ads, like he did for Armani, the new designer confirms that he will remain behind the cameras for now. Tell us: What do you think of David turning designer? reporting by Jessica Herndon
