The Inside Scoop on Ivanka Trump’s Wedding Gown and Hair

While Ivanka Trump looked no further than her own jewelry collection for her something sparkling for her wedding to Jared Kushner this weekend, the heiress sought out famed wedding gown designer Vera Wang for her “something new.” Ivanka and Vera Wang worked closely to create the perfect couture wedding gown inspired by the gown Princess Grace Kelly wore to wed Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956. The result — a hand made lace gown fit for a princess. To complement her majestic gown, Ivanka paid long time hair stylist Julien Farel a visit 10 days prior to the wedding for a trim and “Park Avenue Blonde” highlights. And though Wang was still putting the finishing touches on Ivanka’s wedding gown just days before the ceremony, the heiress was “really calm” according to Suelyn Farel, whose husband Julien cut about an inch and half off of Ivanka’s blonde tresses. “She really just wanted to make sure she had a fabulous trim so her hair would be able to style well the day of the wedding,” Suelyn tells PEOPLE. Too bad Mr. Blackwell didn’t live to see this gown. Not even he could find fault. Perhaps the most elegant, graceful, beautiful wedding gown I’ve ever seen. Obviously, the new bride has exquisite taste. Thank heavens! I was afraid we would be treated to yet another slip gown, or over-exposing strapless, mermaid, or other fashion fads. Ms Wang…kudos! Just when we all thought you could not get any better!

I agree with Kathy – who decided that strapless wedding gowns are attractive? I’m thrilled to see someone of Ivanka’s stature wearing such a lovely and appropriate gown.

I was actually very suprised when I saw the picture of her gown…….stunning and not at all what I had expected….not that I knew what to expect but as one reader said all you see these days is strapless and cleavage to high Heaven. Very classy and elegant choice, exuded Grace Kelly’s style perfectly!

I agree that the dress is very classy, just as Ivanka appears to be. You don’t see her letting the fame go to her head like so many her age. Yes, she works for her dad, but appears to be very hard working and intellegent.

Love the gown..As others have said, I would of been thrilled to have had a gown like that..They are a wonderful looking couple, wish them all of the happiness possible..
