Lindsay Lohan On Her Ungaro Debut: "I Am Learning"

10/14/2009 at 06:25 PM ET

The Paris fashion world never expected to see pasties on the runway. Nor, apparently, did the creative consultant behind the disastrous line, Lindsay Lohan. The actress, 23, who was skewered by the fashion press for the first Ungaro collection she served as artistic advisor on, blamed the fiasco on “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” As for the much-maligned sequined pasties flashed by the models when they opened their jackets and blouses, Lohan said told PEOPLE on Wednesday at a Victoria’s Secret Velvet launch party in New York that she was as shocked as the audience. “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out,” she says, adding that “I am going back to Paris for the next collection….I am learning.” Still, the clock for her next collection is already ticking. “It’s already in January,” she says. “I thought it was in March.” –Isley Kasica

Lindsay Lohan “Still Learning” Time, Fashion | Defamer Australia on

[...] So, what does Lindsay Lohan have to say about her disastrous Ungaro show in Paris? She just didn’t have time to make a collection that didn’t totally suck. And those pasties? She didn’t even know about them! “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out…” Don’t worry though, because the actress says she’s “still learning”, which gives us an iota of hope her next effort won’t fall so flat. [People] [...]

Why didn’t Ungaro hire someone who all ready “learned” fashion design? There are so many people with talent, education and experience who’d be able to excel at this job, but they go for the tabloid headline famous for being atrocious.

If that’s what you hire, that’s what you get.

What a drag. Even supposedly “real businesses” have succumbed to the world as a reality show nightmare – where audacity, narcissism and bad behavior have supplanted talent and skill.

Wow. I bet you she knew it all along. How can be she in charge of the line and not know what was going down that day?
