Lindsay Lohan On Her Ungaro Debut: "I Am Learning"

The Paris fashion world never expected to see pasties on the runway. Nor, apparently, did the creative consultant behind the disastrous line, Lindsay Lohan. The actress, 23, who was skewered by the fashion press for the first Ungaro collection she served as artistic advisor on, blamed the fiasco on “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” As for the much-maligned sequined pasties flashed by the models when they opened their jackets and blouses, Lohan said told PEOPLE on Wednesday at a Victoria’s Secret Velvet launch party in New York that she was as shocked as the audience. “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out,” she says, adding that “I am going back to Paris for the next collection….I am learning.” Still, the clock for her next collection is already ticking. “It’s already in January,” she says. “I thought it was in March.” –Isley Kasica

Good Lord! She didn’t even know the launch date of the next collection either! I guess anyone can design a new line of clothing if this ding dong can….

How about these fashion houses hire REAL, educated, experienced designers?!? These celebrities are NOT designers if they have not gone to school…show me ONE with a Bachelors degree in fashion design! Those of us who are still paying off our student loans and working as real designers are sick of seeing the Lindsays, Jessicas, and J.Lo’s being hailed as designers…they ARE NOT! Jessica Simpson has a whole design team behind her as did J.Lo and the other celebs…they just point to pictures they like…they are not part of the design development portion, sourcing fabrics, pattern making, etc. Ungaros’ house did a great disservice to the industry!

There was a time when Lindsay had potential and was the “it” girl in Hollywood. What the heck happened? She has totally crashed and burned. She needs to lay low and get her life back in order.

It just seems that LL is getting a free ride attempting to be the worlds greatest fashion designer. She messed up her acting career, didnt really stick with a singing career, and other opportunities have been ruined by her childish behavior. Now she expects to be taken seriously in her first attempt to play fashion designer. Regardless of a few tassels, I would think people are annoyed with her lack of humility throughout her career. Playing a victim and not appreciating all the breaks she’s had is vulgar imo.

Just because she is famous (for whatever reason) doesn’t mean she would be qualified to be an advisor in the fashion industry.

Why are people so darn quick to judge? There wasn’t much time between the announcement that Lindsay was going to be a consultant and the actual show. I’m not a Lindsay fan but give the girl a break! I know for a fact that even though I’ve been a clothes hound for more years than most of you have been on this earth, I sure as heck couldn’t have done much better! Come on, people, don’t be so quick with the insults…it says a heck of a lot more about you than your target.
