Gilbert Flores/Celebrity Photo

Gwen Stefani is one of our favorite beauty icons. We love her enduring look of platinum blonde chignon paired with bold red lips. So we were shocked when she appeared at her fashion brand L.A.M.B.’s spring/summer presentation with neutral gloss and electric blue eye shadow. We think her aqua lids looks brilliant, but think we’d have to be Gwen to pull it off. We want to know: Would you wear bright blue on your lids?

Karina Smirnoff On Her Beauty Home Remedies: “Aloe Vera Cures Everything”

Gilbert Flores/Celebrity Photo

As a top hoofer on Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff might have Hollywood’s best products at her disposal, but when it comes to beauty, the dancer revealed to PEOPLE last night, she’d prefers grocery store shelves to department store counters. “I’ve got to be honest,” she confided at the Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film Pre-Emmy Party, “I don’t spend a lot of time or money on buying expensive products, because there are so many natural ways — like you can use olive oil for your skin. You don’t even have to spend hundreds of dollars on an eye cream,” she says frankly. Karina traces her love of kitchen-cupboard beauty to her Greco-Russian upbringing. “Have you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? How I think they had Windex that cured everything. With my family, Aloe Vera cures everything. If you have a blister: Aloe Vera. If you have a wrinkle: Aloe Vera. So, I think it comes with being half-Greek and half-Russian. We’ve always been into natural.” And she’ll soon be making her family beauty fix-alls accessible to everyone. “I’m actually writing a lifestyle book. Every chapter is going to have like a natural remedy, from taking eye-makeup off with diluted olive oil, to [rubbing] an ice cube frozen with squeeze lime or lemon in it all over your face to get circulation [going] and have your muscles be more toned, to just doing avocado oil hair mask.” Tell us: What at-home beauty remedies never fail you? –Reporting by Jed Dreben

Heidi Klum on Her Emmy Dress: “I Can Let It All Hang Out”

Beck Starr/FilmMagic

Heidi Klum is ready to do her runway walk down the Emmy Awards red carpet, and — weeks away from giving birth to her new daughter — she’s thrilled she won’t be sucking in her tummy. “The great thing about being pregnant and going to these things is that I don’t have to suck my stomach in,” the supermodel and Project Runway host told PEOPLE at Los Angeles Confidential’s pre-Emmy party. “It’s fabulous! I can let it all out.” Klum, who’s nominated as Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, revealed that she’ll be wearing a Marchesa gown designed especially for her by Georgina Chapman at Klum’s request. She said she hasn’t put too much thought into prepping around her pregnancy for the big day. “It wasn’t really hard for me, but it was hard for the woman that designed a dress for me,” she laughed about going glam with a baby on board. “She started about two or three months ago and that’s kind of difficult…It’s black because I figure, at eight-and-a-half months, black is better! I think it’s elegant and it’s slimming.” As far as returning to those tummy-sucking-in days, Klum says she doesn’t have any target date to have her famous body ready for bikini and lingerie shoots. “I was asked by Victoria’s Secret if it is possible, if I’m going to make it to their show,” she said. “You never know how you are afterwards, so you kind of have to play it by ear and see what happens. So far – knock on wood – everything was always great. I felt great afterwards and I loved every minute of it, even the sleepless nights of getting up every two hours. But let’s see what happens. You can’t put all that pressure on you.” Check back on Sunday night for all of our live Emmy Awards coverage! –Scott Huver

Taylor Swift On The Tommy Hilfiger Show: “I Love It!”

Diane Bondareff/AP

When Tommy Hilfiger sent his latest looks down the runway at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week a cavalcade of stars turned out, including Naomi Watts, Emily Blunt, Penn Badgley and January Jones — but no one was more enthusiastic than Taylor Swift who nabbed a coveted seat in the front row. “I love it,” she exclaimed to PEOPLE of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. “It was wonderful.” And the designer himself was just as thrilled to give Taylor a close-up view. “We planned it a long time ago,” Hilfiger says of inviting the young star to his show. “She’s a friend of mine. She’s a huge star, a wonderful, wonderful girl. She’s amazing,” continues the designer, who’s also a pal of Taylor’s parents. And Hilfiger’s not the only entrepeneur impressed with the country singer. Russell Simmons, who caught up with Taylor in the front row, also sang her praises. “She’s a very beautiful girl: striking,” he says, before addressing the VMA incident involving Kanye West. “I think what happened with Kanye at the MTV awards is a non-issue,” he says. “She spoke, she was gracious. And he was very apologetic. She’s very chilled, gracious and sweet.” –Reporting by Jeffrey Slonim
