Forget The City! Olivia Palermo Takes in London Fashion Week

Demis Maryannakis/Splash News Online

What does a fashionable New Yorker do when in London? Why, go to Topshop of course!  Olivia Palermo made a brief appearance at London Fashion Week this weekend to check out the Matthew Williamson show and to attend Topshop’s show for its Unique line. Sitting front row at Williamson on Sunday, she told PEOPLE, “I love the way Matthew uses color and I’ve been a huge fan of Topshop for as long as I can remember, so I’m really excited to see both shows.” With filming of The City having just wrapped, Palermo is keen to get her next project under way. “I’m really excited actually, I’m doing a collaboration with Roberta Freymann for a necklace collection,” she revealed. “I designed two styles that will go into her store and we’re working on an exclusive retail deal, probably in Bendels.” According to the fashionable TV star, her perfect Sunday in London would be a low key, paparazzi-free day. “Usually [her boyfriend] Johannes is with me and we love walking around Notting Hill just relaxing, but it’s Fashion Week so I’m here instead and so far it’s been great.” –Monique Jessen

Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Cross-Continental Design Partnership

It was a family affair at the Twenty8Twelve show on Monday night when Sienna and Savannah Miller’s mom, Jo Miller, step-mother Kelly Hoppen and Savannah’s husband took their front row seats at the sisters’ second London Fashion Week collection. Also in the front row — Anna Wintour and MTV presenter Alexa Chung. Backstage, the design duo confessed to PEOPLE that the collection had been hard work and was the product of much sisterly bonding and midnight texting. “We do finish each others sentences,” Savannah told PEOPLE. “Yeah, I guess we are really lucky to have a great relationship where we can work together,” agreed Sienna, as they celebrated with a much-needed cocktail. And with Sienna currently performing in Broadway’s After Miss Julie across the ocean in New York City, the close-knit sisters have proved to be as creative about keeping in touch as they were for their collection of tight denim dresses and striped leotards. “Usually I get my best ideas in the middle of the night,” said Sienna. “We text all the time and we’re always on the bbm [BlackBerry Mobile],” added her sister. With that, the actress fled the backstage area to board a plane back to New York with her mom, her dog and the memories of Anna Wintour applauding her very own fashion moment.–Monique Jessen

Hermione Gets Glam in Jenny Packham

INF

Jenny Packham showed her Spring/Summer 2010 collection at London Fashion Week on Saturday and titled it “Pretty Girl No. 1″. Appropriately, after the show, she dished to PEOPLE about working with her newest It-girl client — Emma Watson‘s Hermione in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. “Emma was so lovely,” said the British designer, renowned for her glamorous red carpet creations. “It’s the first time Hermione has worn something really kind of glam,” said Packham excitedly, on the red dress she designed for Watson’s more “geek than chic” character Hermione Granger. “You just have to do it and hope that they don’t cut it,” said Packham, adding “I think with Hermione, the dress is featured in a very prominent scene, thankfully.” So can we expect Hermione to turn into a designer diva in the next installment of the franchise? “No, I’m sure Emma wanted to wear something more glamorous, but she still has to look like your average teenager and, of course, a witch at the same time!” said Packham. Having worked on the film sets of Sex and the City and Casino Royale, Packham still gets a buzz from being part of the action: “It’s just an amazing experience, plus I’ve got two daughters so I got so many brownie points for that one!” –Monique Jessen

Gossip Girl Style Breakdown: Season Three, Episode Two

Courtesy CW

New season, new school, new look for Gossip Girl‘s Queen Bee Blair Waldorf, as played by Leighton Meester brought her Upper East Side style down to NYU, but her Victoria Beckham peplum dress and matching headband didn’t play quite as well below 14th Street. Now, for Waldorf’s arch-enemy Vanessa Abrams, played by Jessica Szohr, the transition from Brookyn to campus was a little bit easier with her signature funky style, like last night’s Joie denim cargo shorts and a floral DVF print tank. No wonder Blair took a cue from her new floormate and switched into a pair of brass-button Milly sailor shorts and abstract striped DVF top! We tracked down their chic outfits for a whole lot less — not all co-eds have that kind of budget! Click here to shop their looks.Tell us: Whose back-to-school style would you rather rock: Blair’s or Vanessa’s?

Would You Wear Over-The-Knee Boots Like Ciara?

John Parra/WireImage

Even in the middle of a star-studded Fashion Week party, Ciara still knows how to stand out. Her super-sexy, over-the-knee boots by Christian Louboutin combine towering heels with sultry suede and dramatic cut-outs. With a white tee and black skinnies, the look is bold yet pulled-together, but still a whole lot of look for those of us who don’t have the singer’s model-esque proportions or innate style swagger. Tell us: Would you wear boots like Ciara? Or is this style best left to celebs? – Emmy Parsons
