Emma Watson Turns Designer For Charity!

Two months ago, style icon Emma Watson nixed the idea of creating her own celebrity fashion line — unless it benefited a charity. And it looks like she’s found her worthy cause. The Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince star has just announced that she’s lending her design talents to British fair-trade fashion label People Tree for a spring/summer collection of women’s and men’s apparel and accessories. But with so many worthwhile organizations out there, what prompted her to connect with the eco-friendly, socially-conscious brand? “I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to help alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with,” she says. All sales from the line will be donated to the People Tree Foundation, which directly benefits fair-trade farmers and artisans in developing countries. The full collection, which includes everything from organic knitwear to t-shirts, dresses, shorts and jewelry, will hit shelves February 2010 at peopletree.com. Tell us: Will you buy Emma Watson’s designs?

Emma is such a beautiful and talented young woman that girls can look up to. It’s so freshing to see someone that has not been changed (for the worse) by Hollywood. Emma, keep on being the caring and wonderful person you are.

Sure! She seems to have grown up into a beautiful young woman…and I still thought she was beyond cute in the first Harry Potter movie. :)

Emma Watson just became more of my idol right now. I’m flipping out. Not only is she amazingly talented, she’s gorgeous, fashionable and has the purest heart out of any celebrity today. And unlike other’s who have put out lines for their own benefit, she’s doing this for others in need.
i love the line already even though i haven’t seen it. I’m definitely going to buy every piece i can buy :)
