I can relate to this situation. I went to my boyfriends prom when i was a sophmore and a girl in my grade also was there behind my table with the same dress on! same color too!! I have the pics too and i think it was sooo funny then and i still laugh now.
It’s good that they both laughed it off. I mean, it would be snobby if you didn’t laugh.

funny thing – that dress is so not one of a kind its actually on sale to the general public. It’s sold for about £9300. iv tried it on but i looked too pale in it.

My best friend showed up at her daughters wedding with the same dress as the grooms mother. One lives in Wisconsin and one lives in South Carolina…LUCKILY, the grooms mother had another dress, just in case something happened and switched into it. How weird is that?

Seriously, two people in the same dress, no biggie. However, I would have a follow up with anyone that claimed it to be one-of-a-kind. They should be able to trust what their stylists tell them about what they are getting.
