Rihanna, Rachel, Katy & More Shoe-Shop on Fashion’s Night Out!

Ace Pix

What would Fashion’s Night Out be without some shoe shopping? Rihanna, Rachel Bilson, Katy Perry and Michelle Trachtenberg partied up a storm while shopping for shoes at designer Giuseppe Zanotti’s Upper East Side boutique. Rihanna, clad in a clingy black hooded dress by Cover and Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain booties, pursued the shelves of shoes with girlfriends and her stylist Mariel Haenn. After settling on a pair of suede leopard-print wedges, the singer and designer himself hit the dance floor rocking out to “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. An onlooker tells PEOPLE, “I’ve never seen anyone dance and laugh so much at a fashion party before in my life!” Bilson skipped out on the dance party to try on close to twenty pairs before walking away with ankle booties and wedge sandals. And while Rachel played dress-up, Trachtenberg and Taylor Momsen made friends with Perry before picking out their own new shoes. Michelle settled on a pair of over-the-knee embossed leather boots, and Taylor stuck to her ’90s grunge style with crystal-encrusted flat biker boots. No word yet on what Katy took home, but we are sure they are just as drool-worthy as the rest. Gwen Stefani on Her Latest L.A.M.B Collection: “Casual, Easy, Comfortable, Wearable”

Mehdi Taamallah/Abaca

When Gwen Stefani kicked off New York Fashion Week’s first day with a presentation of her Spring/Summer 2010 L.A.M.B. at Milk Studios in Manhattan, she filled the room with her signature eclectic mix. But something was a little different this time around, which marks the singer’s seventh year as a designer. “There were so many things that inspired and influenced the collection,” Gwen told PEOPLE about the show. “It kind of started with a little bit of an African ’80s nod,” she said of the mix of harem pants, animal patterns, beaded necklaces and graphic prints. “But the theme I was really focusing on was just trying to create the stuff you’re looking for in your closet — really casual, easy, comfortable, wearable stuff.” And it seems she met her goal, based on wear-everywhere pieces like a tie-dyed skinny jeans, and the perfect white motorcycle jacket. As for creating the go-to staples in her fans wardrobes, Gwen explains, “I’ve always wanted that out of L.A.M.B. but it’s not easy to do. I finally got to that point where after seven years I’m really starting to learn how to get there and this collection totally reflects that. It’s very neutral colors — black, white, gray with pops of like hot red and crazy yellow and electric blue. It’s basically a really simple collection.” We can’t wait for spring! Pete Wentz Says No to Eyeliner, “Hammer” Pants and Gossip Blogs

Jesse Grant/WireImage

New York wasn’t the only city to get a dash of star power for Fashion’s Night Out. Pete Wentz brought his clothing line Clandestine Industries to Fred Segal as part of the national event meant to stimulate retail, but his hottest accessory for the night was definitely wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. “Ashlee is one of those people who can pull off a million different looks,” boasted Wentz. “My favorite is when she puts no effort into something but is still a total babe.” Ashlee joined her rocker husband for over an hour while he signed autographs and took photos at the Fred Segal boutique on Melrose, even playing various rounds of the board game ‘Guess Who’ with fans of Clandestine Industries, a clothing line which he says “makes you feel good about yourself.” “I like clothes that fit me — I have a weird body type,” said Wentz, whose partly responsible for introducing skinny jeans to the male species. “It sucks when you become the guy whose known for any one thing. You gotta stick with it, ya know?” However, don’t expect to see the Fall Out Boy bassist, whose parted with his signature black eyeliner (he says “eyeliner is out”), wearing “Hammer” pants anytime soon -– especially if Ashlee has a say. “Dior made those last year. I bought a pair, officially looked in the mirror and my wife said, ‘No. It’s not a good decision to make.’” Whatever gossip is swirling around Hollywood of a marriage on the rocks, Wentz and Ashlee continue to put rumors to rest. “They would whisper in each others ears and smile,” said a guest of the party. “It was really cute.” Ashlee would occasionally check her Blackberry (complete with a photo of baby Bronx on the home screen), but it was clear she was out to support her husband. “You need a license to get married, but you don’t need a license to have a blog on the internet,” said Wentz. “I just think that people shouldn’t believe what they read.” Clandestine Industries’ newest line debuts on September 14 at clandestineindustries.com. – Kimberly Lansing

Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Take Bergdorf Goodman for Fashion’s Night Out!

David X. Prutting/Patrick McMullan/Sipa

New York City’s much anticipated Fashion’s Night Out lived up to the hype, especially for the screaming fans and shoppers who made their way up to famed department store Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue to catch a glimpse of Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Lines to get into the luxury store stretched around the block and inside was just as packed. Victoria, clad in thigh-high Gucci boots and a neon mini dress, arrived around 7:30 PM to pose for pictures and sign Fashion’s Night Out T-shirts, telling PEOPLE on her way out, “It was great. It was really great.” Meanwhile, Mary-Kate and Ashley took a break from designing successful lines Elizabeth and James and The Row to work as bartenders on the 7th floor. Marli Milask, a lucky shopper who got an Olsen-mixed martini, tells PEOPLE, “It’s not that strong, but it’s good. We waited an hour to get inside and just see them for ten minutes, but it was worth it. They were very nice, just pouring drinks and handing them out.” And though the scene at Bergdorf’s was mayhem, one of the bartenders who worked beside the Olsens tells PEOPLE that the famous designers weren’t phased. “It was very relaxed. We were making a vodka and pomegranate drink. We mixed a couple of hundred drinks together. They’re very hard workers. Very nice.” Click here to check out where the other stars spent Fashion’s Night Out, and be sure to follow us on Twitter at Twitter.com/StyleWatchMag for all the latest Tweets from the Fashion Week!
