Miranda Kerr and Melissa Rycroft on Fragrance — and Love in the Public Eye

Scott Kirkland/INF

Model Miranda Kerr, might be notoriously tight-lipped about her relationship with Orlando Bloom, but there is one secret she couldn’t wait to let out of the bag — Victoria’s Secret’s newest perfume. Last week, the Victoria’s Secret Angel headed to retailer’s store at The Grove in L.A. to launch the Dream Angels Heavenly Enchanted Collection. And as stunning as Miranda looked in her nude Christian Dior dress and matching Miu Miu pumps, she somehow managed to keep the focus on the new scent. “It’ll be a great fragrance for the winter because it’s very woody,” she told PEOPLE.com, offering a whiff, “but also has a crisp freshness to it.” Joining her at the event was Dancing with the Stars alum, Melissa Rycroft — who was brave enough to bring along her fiance, Tye Strickland. Melissa had little to worry about from her husband-to-be, though, who happily chatted about planning the details of their upcoming wedding. “Tye and I are similar in our planning in that we both do nothing,” she laughed. “Our parents love that stuff and we don’t get stressed out about it.” Strickland jokingly added, “And they’re cheap too. We don’t have to pay them too much.” And while the reality star (who was famously dumped after winning the The Bachelor) isn’t shy about experiencing her relationships in the public eye, supermodel Miranda had a different take on love and celebrity, addressing her own hesitation to share her love life by explaining that it’s simple: “the rest of my life is so public.” –Reporting by Susan Yara

Mary-Kate, Ashley, Kirsten and More Stars Celebrate Opening Ceremony in Tokyo

Junko Kimura/Getty

Hollywood stormed Tokyo this weekend for a see-and-be-seen party at cutting-edge fashion boutique Opening Ceremony. The shop’s co-founders, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, were on hand to greet their stylish guests, which included actress Kirsten Dunst, designer Alexander Wang and Greek shipping heir (and former flame of Paris Hilton) Stavros Niachros. Designing sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were hard to miss at the event in their tulle animal ears — mouse for Ashley and rabbit for Mary-Kate — while they signed garments from their own label The Row. Even SNL star Andy Samberg was there, and joked to WWD, “I come to Tokyo once a week. I have a lot of stocks out here…I’m mainly just here on business.” Contented guests sipped sake from wooden cups while taking in the collections. The night ended on a fashionable high-note with revelers heading to an after-party at the Liquid Room, where The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas gave an exclusive preview of his first solo album.

VIDEO: Victoria Beckham “Swings” into Fall

Forget the runway show! To promote her Autumn/Winter 2009 dress collection, Victoria Beckham got her models swinging into the season — literally! Eight models, all dressed in her slim-silhouetted sheaths accessorized with red-soled Christian Louboutin heels, perch on wooden swings hung from doorways on a quiet London street as the camera pans back and forth. Victoria makes a cameo towards the end of the video where she swings in and out of frame with her signature dark sunglasses, gray cashmere “Carmontelle” dress and Louboutin heels. The video was directed by Mat Jerrett and was shot in a single take. Check out the video and shop Victoria’s dress collection at bergdorfgoodman.com. The designer herself will be making an appearance at the famed department store come Fashion Week. Tell us: What do you think of Victoria’s video?

EXCLUSIVE: Lady Gaga Gets Real About Fashion and Fame for V

Mario Testino/V Magazine

What look Lady Gaga will rock next is anyone’s guess. But if there’s one thing we can count on from the singer, it’s that whatever she wears — or does — it’ll be outrageous. In the Fall issue of V magazine, she lives up to her wild-child persona with stunning, super-bronzed images shot by Mario Testino — and we have the exclusive first look. In a frank interview, the unorthodox cover-girl dishes about her unique take on style, saying, “Us Weekly putting me on a worst-dresses list? I couldn’t care less. If Karl Lagerfeld called me an ugly hag, then I’d be upset. Because it’s Karl Lagerfeld.” As unique as her look is, however, she finds that she still sometimes gets pigeonholed. “When I was a brunette, they called me Amy Winehouse,” she says. “When I was a blonde, they called me Madonna. Then they called me Christina, then Gwen. I just don’t think most people’s reference points go back very far.” And although she’s achieved global fame, the singer can still get dazzled by celebrity. And who wouldn’t, after finding out that Madonna is in the audience of your N.Y.C. concert? “My sister texted me and she was like, ‘Madonna is 15 feet away from me.’ This is awesome! I just remember thinking, ‘wow, this is exactly what I wanted.’” Pick up V on newsstands September 1st.
