EXCLUSIVE: Lauren Conrad Goes Brunette for Harper’s Bazaar

Courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar

We already got a sneak peek at Lauren Conrad‘s brunette tresses when she was spotted on the set of a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar and now, the images are out! The fashion magazine had the California girl change up her signature blonde hair for a day-long experiment. But even a wig wasn’t enough to disguise the famous reality star. “I think initially the wig threw people off, but they figured it out. I felt like it only disguised me for a moment, and then it made me feel like I was hiding, which made me feel silly,” Lauren tells Harper’s. Lauren might have considered dying her hair dark to keep the Hills producers from for coercing her to come back on screen, but “I went into a wig store and tried on a brown wig, and they all laughed at me. All these women [who worked there] were like, ‘You look like Hannah Montana.’ So after a day in her dark wig, Lauren’s verdict was in. “Day to day, I can only do blonde. Everything else makes me look sort of plain-Jane.” Pick up the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar to read more about of Lauren’s day as a brunette. Issue hits stands July 21st. Tell us: Do you think Lauren looks good as a brunette?

INF, Richard Young/Startraks

One dress, one night, two divas — it was a real-time fashion faceoff last night as Whitney Houston and Madonna both hit the scene in Europe in their snow leopard-print Dolce & Gabbana dresses. Madonna hit the after-party for her Milan concert at the Gold restaurant, owned by longtime pals Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, along with her “good friend” Jesus Luz in her printed sheath. Meanwhile, in London, Whitney attended a playback party for her new album I Look to You in the same curve-hugging dress. Emma Watson on Celebrity Fashion: “It’s Gotten So Ridiculous”

PA Photos/Landov

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince may be hitting theatres this Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean wizardry is the only thing on Emma Watson’s mind. After stepping in front of the lens as the newest face of Burberry, the 19-year-old has garnered nearly as much acceptance in the fashion world as she already has in cinema. And she’s chatting with WWD about her transformation from the film’s brainy teen star to international fashion icon. While acting still takes precedence, Emma says, there’s no denying that she enjoys the fashion world. But just as she confirmed to PEOPLE.com a couple weeks ago, that doesn’t mean that she’ll be following in the footsteps of stars like Lauren Conrad or Jessica Simpson and creating a signature line. “I’m not a designer,” she tells the paper. “If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I’d consider it, but not just [to be able to say] ‘Look at me! I’ve got my own line!’” She says of the increasingly blurred line between celebrity and branding, “[It’s] gotten so ridiculous. The idea of making my own perfume makes me want to vomit.” Tell us: What do you think of Emma’s frank take on fame and fashion?
