Avril Lavigne Launches Children’s Fashion Line and Signature Scent!

Courtesy of Abbey Dawn

A year after launching her Abbey Dawn collection for juniors at Kohl’s stores, punk princess Avril Lavigne is extending the line to include clothing for younger girls as well. The Abbey Dawn children’s line will debut in two weeks and will be a cuddlier version of the singer’s own rock and roll style, featuring layered tees with friendly skull graphics and comfy leggings. “We have a really cute zebra hoodie with ears,” she says, “and I’m like, ‘Can I fit into the extra-large? Because I really like these!’” In addition to helping kids find their inner bad girls, Lavigne will debut a new fragrance with Proctor & Gamble called Black Star this summer. “It’s really me in a bottle,” she says of the perfume, which took two years to create. She’s also recording an upcoming album, due out in November. Lavigne says that her fashion and beauty endeavors are a reflection of her own evolving personal style. Although she’s traded in her tomboyish skateboard sneakers for high heels, she makes sure to hang on to her style roots. “I mix rock and roll elements with high-end stuff now — I love Chanel,” she says. “I’m just more feminine now, but my style still has everything I’ve ever liked.”–Christina Yoon

InStyle Exclusive: Jackson Family to Honor Michael In Versace

Versace has confimed exclusively to Instyle.com that the Jackson clan–including Janet, Latoya, Michael’s children (in custom designs) and his brothers —will be wearing Versace to the memorial service today. Michael wore the late Gianni Versace’s designs both on and off the stage for years so it only seems fitting for the family to wear the Italian label as a tribute to one of his favorite designers. Whose New Haircut is Hotter: Chace or Zac?

Splash News Online, Flynet

Last year’s hottest look for young male stars was definitely the boy bangs, but this summer, it’s all about a closer crop and lots of forehead. First, Chace Crawford debuted a new look on the set of Gossip Girl, that the show’s costumer revealed to InStyle.com was actually a mistake that worked out well! He got it cut in England. It was just supposed to be a trim,” says show hairstylist Jen Johnson. “It’s shorter and pushed back off his beautiful face. We think it was a great mistake!” And now, Zac Efron has also cut off his trademark side-swept bangs for a fresh and clean do that he showed off over the holiday weekend. Is it coincidence that both heartthrobs gave up their bangs for similar new crops? Maybe, but that doesn’t stop us from comparing them. Vote in our poll below!

EXCLUSIVE: The Scoop on Madonna’s New Couture Costumes

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Madonna looks fiercer than ever on stage these days, and she has one man to thank for that On the opening night of the Material Girl’s Sticky & Sweet tour’s second leg July 4 in London, Madonna wowed fans with a new “super couture, sensual, Goth, bondage” costume that Givenchy Haute Couture’s Riccardo Tisci designed for her opening act. “What I wanted for the opening was to give a very iconic view of Madonna,” Tisci tells PEOPLE exclusively. “She’s wearing an outfit that will make history. I wanted to do something even stronger (than what he designed for her in the tour’s first leg) because she wants to be stronger.” Working with the Queen of Pop was easy, says Tisci. “I just met her six months ago and I’m completely in love with her,” he says. “She’s an artist but she let me express myself, which is rare. She knew what she liked from my collection and wanted me to translate that for her on stage.” He also designed a new dress for another part of her show. “She said she wanted to do colors,” he says. “I said why not? So we did fluorescent rosary necklaces (over a black dress.)” Tisci was also very impressed with Madonna’s ability to remain calm in the midst of so much activitity, rehearsing and putting her tour together. And yet, he says, “She was very calm and Zen. She is a Leo like me. For Leos to be calm and Zen takes time because we are very energetic. She was amazing.” And she’s not the only one rocking new costumes on the tour — Madonna’s male backup dancers looked newly sharp in Brooks Brothers Slim Fit ten-pleat wing collar and tennis collar white tuxedo shirts during the opening number of “Candyshop.”
