I love it! I have crazy hair, I don’t get a hair cut, I get the shrub trimmed once ever 6 weeks. The day I got it cut (after years of straightening) was, not gonna lie, hard. I cried in the salon. I had no idea my hair was as curly as it was. But it was a very liberating day for me. I like that Solange is stepping out on her own, good for her.

You can’t get caught up on hair because other people are. I have done it twice before. It’s just hair!. Frankly, I had so much hair people assumed it was a weave. It was too much and I was sick of it! I was so comfortable after shaving it that other peoples discomfort didn’t matter. In fact, I started a trend.Several other women cut their hair after seeing me. You are a public figure, so don’t be surprised if next year, it becomes the “it” do…You just grow it out then, cause you won’t wanna look like the copy cats ;-). Be your own blessing sis.

Wow! It amazes me how negative people can be. I cut my hair off three years ago for the same reason she did. Anytime a celebrity does something “drastic”(though this isn’t really drastic at all), people think its for attention. Please. They’re already famous. Why would they need more attention? You see we’re already discussing her. And for those who say who cares? Obviously, you do or you wouldn’t have had a reason to even comment. Leave the negativity to yourself. Solange is doing her thing and clearly, she’s doing it well. I wish more of us Black women would put down the relaxers and give their natural selves a go. It is so much better not having to sit in a salon or even at home burning your scalp and hoping you don’t get rained on and whatnot.
