Scarlett Johansson’s Mango Ads Revealed!

Ever since Mango first announced that Scarlett Johansson would be replacing Penelope Cruz for their Fall/Winter 2009 ad campaign, we have been dying to see what they had in store for us. And they did not disappoint! The sultry star, who is also the face of Dolce & Gabbana’s makeup line, sheds her ’50s glam for a punky ’80s feel for Mango’s new ads shot by famed photographer Mario Sorrenti in Los Angeles. Showing off her legs in short tight dresses complete with high heels, tousled hair and animal prints, Scarlett has never looked sexier. Tell us: What do you think of Scarlett’s ads for Mango?

This ad is not flattering for her. She was beautiful as a red head and now it’s just odd. She looks a bit sickly on the first one, her face angles are too sharp and too long. I miss the old Scarlett, she was a lot prettier then.

Penelope was a better choice. I do not care for Scarlett..She is pretty, but I saw her on Jay Leno and she was rude to one of the other guests and had an attitude that she was better than they were. Her rudeness, that night, was a reflection of her inner-beauty that took away from the outer-beauty.

Not impressed. The hair looks like a wig and the angles are strange. The outfit that she has on in the first one emphasizes her stomach. She could never look bad, but she looks just ordinary and not exciting to me in these.

These photos (studio magic and rest is photoshop magic) make her look thinner than she is really. Check out the photos from her brief visit to the Mango press conference/photocall from yesterday. Still looking slightly slimmer than she has for a while maybe, but that’s likely because of her movie role (Iron Man 2, filming over soon).

Well, I’ve always liked Scarlett. She’s always had that ‘something’ about her, even when she was still a girl. She’s grown into a beautiful woman, no matter what her hair color (though, I too prefer her w/red). Call me old-fashioned, but I liked the ’50′s glam look. Did you see those appearances on Letterman and Leno? Wow!

She looks beautiful in the pictures, but she doesn’t look like herself. She looks as if she lost a lot of weight for the shoot. I love the more natural, curvier, fuller faced, more classic look…that Renaissance beauty look in “Girl with a Pearl Earring”…stunning! But hey, she’s young and fabulous and she’s an actress and change is interesting and fun.

Penelope is also a stunner. No comparison. Just a different vibe.

what i want to know is….why?! She (and P Cruz) already make X million dollars for every film, and yeah i know ads are even better money for the time invested (which no doubt is the answer to the question), but i just think this cheapens her as an artist. the next time one of her flicks comes out i’ll be thinking “hmm, yeah well maybe see that…maybe”.

Both Scarlett & Penelope showed off their curves in Mango ads. Scarlett flaunted her curves really well in these photos, from Louis Vuitton to Dolce & Gabbana, she just looks perfect. Aroused my interest for Mango too. :]

I think she looks great in these. Between Scarlett and Penelope Cruz, can I just say a big THANK YOU to Mango for choosing women with some healthy curves to represent their brand? Love her or leave her, Scarlett Johansson always looks confident and comfortable in her own skin, and I just think she’s such a great role model for women in that respect.
