EXCLUSIVE: Claire Danes Picks Narciso Rodriguez To Design Her Wedding Gown

Evan Agostini/AP

When Claire Danes walks the aisle to meet Hugh Dancy in a storybook Hollywood wedding, the bride will be wearing a gown designed by her longtime friend Narciso Rodriguez. Danes arrived at the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night at Alice Tully Hall in New York on the arm of Rodriguez, saying that as a date, she finds the designer “very cheeky and playful and funny, kind and dear . . . one of my dear friends. Any excuse to hang out with him is welcome,” she said. In fact, she trusts Rodriguez so implicitly, she tells PEOPLE that she’s asked him to create her wedding dress. “He’s making it. I get weepy. .. more emotional than I was expecting,” she said of the process. “It’s intimate.” But is it easy working with a friend? “It’s amazing,” said Danes. “I’m so privileged. I’m collaborating a little bit, but I’m just trusting him implicitly. I’m offing my ideas, but they always pale in comparison to his.” While Danes was in a body-hugging black dress designed by Narciso for her, she indicated that “yes”, she will be wearing white for her wedding day. As for Narciso, he had nothing but praise for his star client. “She’s an extraordinary woman inside and out,” he said of designing for Danes. “That always comes through. You can’t hide it. I just try to make her look more beautiful,” he said. “And it’s not hard to make her look beautiful.” And let’s not forget that he has a little bit of experience dressing beautiful blonde brides, having famously designed Caroline Bessette Kennedy’s dress for her 1996 wedding to John F. Kennedy Jr., which instantly placed the designer on international fashion map. –Jeffrey Slonim

Would You Wear Neon Yellow Like Mischa Barton?

Greg Tidwell/PacificCoastNews

We love when warm weather arrives so we can whip out the bright colors and experiment with our clothes, accessories and even our makeup! There are tons of options, but lately we’ve been loving hot pink polish on our toes and a bright yellow statement necklace to go with an otherwise subdued outfit. It’s the perfect segue into summer. Mischa Barton must’ve been thinking the same thing with her head-to-toe color including matching neon yellow jacket, tassel scarf and shoes. The bold look works for the former O.C. star, but we don’t know if we could pull it off ourselves. The editors at StyleWatch want to know if you’d give this hue a try. Tell us: Would you wear electric yellow head-to-toe? — Archana Ram

Wanna Get Adam Lambert’s Pompadour? His Stylist Shares the Secrets

Getty

Adam Lambert rocks one of the most versatile heads of hair in the business, and when the singer hit the Young Hollywood Awards in L.A. last week, we had to know how he got his new Elvis-worthy pompadour. Luis Payne, senior stylist at the Hairroin Salon, for Sebastian Professional — and Adam’s long-time friend — touched up the star’s hairstyle before he hit the stage, and is sharing with PEOPLE.com the steps he used to perfect Adam’s look. First, Luis emulsified a few pumps of Sebastian Professional Microweb Fiber onto his fingertips. Starting at the ends of Adam’s hair, he worked toward the roots before sculpting the hair into a swept-back shape. He then created separation where needed with his fingers, and gave it hold with Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper hairspray. Adam’s hair change-ups are nothing new, according to the stylist, who for years leading up to Adam’s run on American Idol, worked with the star for stage shows. “He always comes to me with some erratic idea that I need to implement quickly before his performance,” Luis says. Tell us: Which of Adam’s hairstyles is your favorite?

Lauren Conrad Goes Brunette – For the Day! Love It or Hate It?

Ramey

Lauren Conrad is a California blonde through and through — except this weekend, when she tried out a short brunette bob created by star hairstylist Ken Paves while shooting in Los Angeles. Conrad took to her Twitter page to tell fans about the experience, twittering “Just finished our shoot. I got to wear a brown wig all day. It fun… Kinda like playing dress up.” The star struck poses outside the Marc Jacobs store in West Hollywood for Harper’s Bazaar looking a bit more Posh than her normal self. As sophisticated as Lauren looks as a brunette, we have to say that we prefer her with her normal long blonde locks. Tell us: What do you think of Lauren as a brunette? Should she dye her hair for real?
