Actress Holly Robinson Peete is passionate about all her roles in life — including being a mom to four children, wife to football star Rodney Peete, and a Parkinson’s activist, and she’s letting PEOPLE.com in on one more thing she loves: a beauty bargain. The Hollywood actress, who is currently starring in Suave Naturals’ Shower Me Beautiful campaign for the brand’s Wild Cherry Blossom Indulgent Wash, talked with PEOPLE.com about her own favorite ways to indulge in beauty — even without a superstar salary. When it comes to cosmetics, she says, “Even my makeup artist will tell you, cheaper mascaras are the best! You don’t need to spend $20 on a tube.” And she has a favorite trick for amping up the performance of any brand: “I bend the end of the wand into an ‘L’ shape to get a better angle on my lashes.” Experience has also taught her that the easiest route to true beauty is keeping your look clean and elegant. “The simplicities of mascara and lip gloss go a long way!,” she says. And a never-fail way to stay keep skin flawless: “Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize — face and body!” she says. “I’ve been known to carry moisturizer everywhere.” Check out more about Holly’s campaign for Suave Skin and beauty tips here. Then tell us: What’s your favorite budget-friendly beauty indulgence?

Jessica Simpson Stars in New Reality Series: The Price of Beauty

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Ever since she performed at a Florida concert last February in high-waisted “mom jeans” that made her the target of scrutiny by body bullies, Jessica Simpson has continued to be critiqued about her figure and her weight. And now it’s her turn to do the scrutinizing in her new VH1 docu-series called The Price of Beauty.

Starting in July, Jessica will travel the globe talking to everyday women about the lengths they go for beauty, while investigating — and even participating in — some of their dietary fads, beauty regimens and apparel. “When [I was approached] for a show about true beauty, I was immediately intrigued,” Jessica said in a statement. “I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect. I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey.”

Simpson seems to have moved past the criticism targeted at her earlier in the year, and is looking forward to the next chapter in her career. “Jessica is so excited to start shooting the show,” says a source close to the pop star. “She has been doing research into some of the insane things people do to try to make themselves more beautiful and she is shocked. She thinks it will be fun to try some of them.”

Emma Watson: “There’s Nothing Interesting about Looking Perfect”

Norman Jean Roy/ Teen Vogue

Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson makes a grown-up glam appearance on the cover of Teen Vogue‘s August issue with her D&G puffy-shouldered plum blouse with applique details, floral D&G skirt tied with an emerald Mokuba ribbon and a crystal Fallon tiara. And though wearing luxe labels is nothing new to the famous teen — who has been hitting the red carpet since she was 11 in Chanel and Balenciaga — the actress tells the magazine that in her everyday life, she’s careful to make sure her outfits never look overdone. “There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect—you lose the point. You want what you’re wearing to say something about you, about who you are,” says Emma. And when you can count Christopher Bailey (of Burberry) and Karl Lagerfeld as your friends, looking stylish just comes with the territory. Check out more of Emma’s interview with Teen Vogue where the star dishes on college, her future acting plans and more style at teenvogue.com.

Courtesy Parlux Fragrances

The Fifi fragrance award-winner has just announced that she is adding a sixth scent to her perfume empire. Siren by Paris Hilton is a tropical floral fragrance with notes of vanilla bean and creamy musk produced through Parlux Fragrances. Inspired by the seductive creatures of ancient Greek mythology whose enchanting music lured sailors to their death, Paris poses as a mermaid and adds sophistication and modern glamour to the myth. “Siren is all about being sexy in a playful way. I feel irresistible as a mermaid,” Paris explains of the image. “What girl doesn’t want to have fun being a fantasy creature that men can’t resist?” And this isn’t the first time the heiress has dressed like a mythical character. For her last fragrance, Fairy Dust, she donned wings to put a sexy spin on the pixie. But with Paris’s long golden locks, glowing tan and glittering costume, we think she makes the perfect mermaid. Siren by Paris Hilton Collection will arrive in stores July, with a 1.7 oz. eau de parfum spray starting at $45 a bottle. Tell us: What do you think of Paris Hilton’s newest fragrance ad?

And the country singer is finally unveiling her eponymous new juice. “I’m pretty picky when it comes to fragrance — I don’t wear a lot of it, and I haven’t worn a lot in the past,” she tells WWD.com. I wanted to be able to create this scent, to be involved with the lab, choosing the notes, and everything.” The eau de toilette, which will contain notes of magnolia, peony and crisp pear, will start at $17 for a 1-oz. bottle when it launches in October. Queen Latifah Debuts Her New Scent

Courtesy Parlux

As the spokesperson for Cover Girl’s Queen Collection of cosmetics for women of color, Queen Latifah is already beauty royalty. And the Grammy-winner has just announced that she’s expanding her empire into the world of fragrance. This fall, the rapper-singer-actress will join the ranks of celeb perfumers including Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez with a new scent by Parlux Fragrances. Queen by Queen Latifah will feature notes of mandarin, jasmine, cognac, Moroccan coriander and Egyptian musk housed in a ruby-red bottle embossed with a heart. She will also star in aptly regal print ads for the eau de parfum sprays, which start at $49 for a 1.7 oz. bottle. As for what inspired her to jump into the fragrance game, the star explains, “Beauty really does start on the inside. It’s like a state of mind, a state of love, if you will. So I see a fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: Scent expresses a woman’s confidence and sensuality, it’s how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength.” Tell us: Will you try out Queen Latifah’s scent when it launches in August?
