Angie Harmon and Purex Help Women in Need — You Can Too!

Angie Harmon may have given birth to her third girl, Emery, just five months ago, but a new baby isn’t the only thing keeping her busy. The actress has partnered in a new project with detergent brand Purex, which benefits entrepreneurial women in developing countries through with micro-lending site Kiva.org. In celebration of their newest laundry innovation — an economical 3-in-1 product that contains detergent, softener and anti-static in a single sheet that moves with clothes through the entire laundry process — Purex is offering a $1 to give to a mom in need. “You go to PurexChangesLives.com,” Angie explains, “and you can pick from a slew of pre-approved women that want to start their own business and get their family out of a poverty situation. You register the number that’s on the back of the box — and you control where the dollar goes!” And she’s become enthralled with the process herself, having helped women all over the world. “I had a lady in South America who was starting a grocery store,” she says. “She needed $130 — that’s it! — to start her own business and to help her children. When you think about how much one dollar can help these women, it’s moving, and that’s what I loved about PurexChangesLives.com.”
