WATCH: Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Hair-Raising Experience — Being Blonde Zack Morris!

For the record: Mark-Paul Gosselaar has always been a serious actor, even when he was playing personality challenged Zack Morris on the goofy ’90s sitcom Saved by the Bell. “The reason why it was such a success in my opinion was because we worked really hard at it,” Gosselaar, 35, now the star of the TNT legal series Raising the Bar, tells PEOPLE. “I feel things work because of the amount of effort that you put into it, you’ll see a return. That was the way it was for Saved by the Bell. We didn’t take anything for granted on that show.” And that work ethic extended to the toil required for the blond hair sported by the naturally brunette Gosselaar. “I sat every three weeks in a chair getting my hair done by someone on the set putting in foils,” he says. “I’m lucky that I came out the way I did. It really could have scarred me.” We’re happy to see that Gosselaar takes his blonde days in stride, even turning up on Jimmy Fallon’s couch last night in full Zack Morris costume — done to his perfectly highlighted hair. Tell us: Do you prefer Mark-Paul with his natural brunette hair or his teen-era blonde locks? –Michael Fleeman

Selena Gomez Cuts Her Hair: Love It Or Hate It?

Andy Fossum/Startraks

At Sunday night’s A Time for Heroes event for Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS, Selena Gomez debuted a new shorter, blonde-highlighted bob. “I cut it yesterday,” she told PEOPLE.com. “I was sitting down in the chair, and I was going to ask for the same thing: Little extensions, curling it, long.” But on the spur of the moment, she says, “I just cut it — cut it off! It feels good.” We think the shorter length is perfect for summer, as is the lighter hue. Tell us: Do you like Selena’s shorter style, or do you prefer it longer? –reporting by Nicholas White

Emma Watson is The New Face of Burberry

Mario Testino

What could be more British than Burberry, and what young British actress could be hotter right now? It’s a match made in style heaven to have Harry Potter star and fashionista Emma Watson be the new face of the Burberry fall ad campaign, especially to hear creative director Christopher Bailey tell it. “Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for quite some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign who like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty a great character and a modern edge,” says Bailey. And having a 19-year old front the brand also brings a dash of fun and youth, even to the shoot by Mario Testino itself. Bailey reveals, “Emma’s charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.” But even with her youth and fame, the campaign is meant to reflect the classic side of Burberry and its long history. Bailey explains, “I wanted the images to represent both the rich history and the modernity of the Burberry brand whilst at the same time reflecting a quiet beauty, timelessness and strength that is particularly significant today.” We think Emma looks gorgeous and we can’t wait to see the whole campaign when it rolls out this fall. Tell us: What do you think of Emma as the face of Burberry?

Michelle Obama Takes Her Daughters Shopping in Paris

KCSPresse/Splash News Online

What better way to celebrate your birthday than a mini-shopping spree in Paris? And that’s just how First Daughter Sasha Obama celebrated her eighth a few days early (her birthday is June 10) over the weekend. Mom Michelle Obama took a little break from official business in France to get in some mother-daughter time with her two girls. After a Sunday brunch en famille with French president Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Mrs. Obama took the birthday girl and her sister Malia to the Bonpoint flagship store in Paris’s 5th arrondissement, where a source tells us Mrs. Obama “bought three complete outfits for Sasha because it was her birthday.” And while Bonpoint is a favorite of Hollywood parents like the Jolie-Pitts and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Mrs. Obama learned about children’s retailer from another stylish source: fellow First Lady — and former model — Carla Bruni Sarkozy. –reporting by Peter Mikelbank

Neil Patrick Harris Shines at the Tony’s– Literally! Love it or Hate It?

Andrew H. Walker/Getty

When it comes to formal apparel, men are usually forced to make due with a standard-issue black suit — with only the most daring stars, like Johnny Depp and David Arquette, deviating from a totally classic red carpet look. Which is precisely why we loved spotting Neil Patrick Harris cut a stylish figure at last night’s Tony Awards in a black suit that appeared to out-shine the stage lights. And while the silhouette was elegant, he gave the look style by choosing his Calvin Klein Collection tuxedo in a chintzed wool flannel that had just a touch of sheen rather than a more basic matte fabric. Tell us: Would you want your escort to wear a suit with shine — or do you prefer him to keep his look totally classic for formal events?
