Michael Kors Dishes on Michelle Obama’s Fashion Choices

AFP/Getty Images

Even the best-dressed women run into fashion faux-pas occasionally, and while Michelle Obama‘s style has remained flawless, one of her looks was accidentally miscredited. Last week, her elegant black column gown at the Time 100 gala in N.Y.C. was attributed to Azzedine Alaia, when in fact, it was designed by Michael Kors. Cynical fashionistas couldn’t help but wonder if Michelle’s choice of a (correctly attributed) fuchsia Michael Kors gown at the White House Correspondent’s dinner was a peace offering, an idea that Kors himself quickly shot down. “I am sure a woman as smart and organized as Mrs. Obama knew in advance what she planned to wear this week for both events,” the Project Runway judge told WWD. “I am honored that she chose to wear my clothes to two events in the same week and looked so chic at both occasions.” Michelle Obama also wore a Michael Kors dress for her official White House portrait, so we assume that she’s as big a fan of the charming and classic designer as we are!

Dean McDermott is keeping his promise to buy Tori Spelling a new wedding ring every anniversary. This year, the actor took his wife to dinner at Hollywood hotspot Mr. Chow and surprised her with a Neil Lane sparkler. “I love the tradition Dean has started,” Spelling exclusively tells PEOPLE. “Every year when he slips it on my ring finger, it reminds me of the day he made me his wife and we started our amazing journey together as one.” The antique French ring consists of a round white diamond and a fancy round yellow diamond set side by side, symbolizing the expression “Toi et Moi”, or “You and Me”. “I can’t wait to one day pass on my amazing wedding band collection to my kids and their kids,” says Spelling, who is mom to daughter Stella, 11 months and son Liam, 2. Three days later, it was time to celebrate again for Mother’s Day. During brunch at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills with her husband and children, Spelling received a Tacori gold necklace with an “L” and “S” pendant. When she returned home, Spelling found a manicurist ready to pamper her with a manicure and pedicure. “It’s been so long since I’ve felt so pampered!” she says. “It was so sweet.” Also sweet is the success of her second book, Mommywood, which is currently in its third week on the New York Times bestseller list and the premiere of the fourth season of the couple’s Oxygen show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, on Tuesday, May 26. – Ulrica Wihlborg and Lizz Leonard

Adriana Lima on Finding Love and Getting Fit in the Ring

Amanda Schwab/Startraks

Manhattan sizzled this Saturday, as Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima hit Victoria’s Secret to launch the brand’s sexy new scent collection. Dressed as a modern day Cleopatra, the newlywed lounged in a boudoir setting, and talked to PEOPLE.com about the quest for love and her secrets for supermodel beauty. “I never thought I would find somebody so great in my life,” she says of her basketball star husband, Marko Jaric, whom she married this past Valentine’s Day. “These days it’s so tough, you know? And I consider myself very lucky, very lucky to have such a wonderful man that respects me and treats me like a princess.” And while Adriana has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2000, she is thrilled to expand into beauty with the brand as the face of their new fruity floral scent Noir. “Fragrance for me, it’s so important,” she explains. “It sets up my mood. Part of my confidence comes from perfume. Before a fashion show I always have it in my handbag. Before I walk out I put it on. When I do commercials for Victoria’s Secret I put on my perfume. It’s really part of me. I can’t live without it.” And the supermodel shared her surprising secret to staying a knock-out — literally! “Boxing! It’s my favorite thing to do because it’s always exciting. It’s the best type of cardio that you can do. And you build up muscles without being too big, just lean muscles.” And while the sport might seem at odds with her ultra-feminine career, she says she’s finally found the perfect fit. “I tried everything,” she says. ” I tried running, I took spin classes, I tried yoga. I needed something to challenge me so I learn new things every day, and boxing is the best!” Check out the Noir collection at victoriassecret.com now!
