Hilary Duff On Getting Edgy With Her DKNY Jeans Collection

Denise Truscello/WireImage

Hilary Duff has come a long way from her Disney princess days. Not only is the former child star gearing up to play the lead in a remake of the classic outlaw flick Bonnie and Clyde, she’s also getting ready to release the downtown cool clothing line that we told you about back in February. And at an AIDS charity event this week, Hilary chatted about her new ventures, including her collection with DKNY Jeans. The actress admits to Nylon that Femme for DKNY Jeans is “kind of a selfish line, because it’s skinny jeans, which look the best on me.” She also included fun personal touches like multiple-size belt loops. “Sometimes I want to wear a skinny little belt wrapped around a million times, or sometimes I want to wear a really fat one that won’t ever stay in place, slung low. So it just has a lot of options,” she explains. And while Hilary was sure to include her style favorites, her design wheels started spinning with inspiration from “normal girls.” “I’ll be walking down the street and think, oh she looks cute!” Hilary says. “Especially being in New York because everyone has such unique styles. And it’s not people who have a ton of money or have a huge closet, but it”s people wearing what they love and having a unique way of putting it together.” Click here to check out more of nylonmag.com‘s interview with Hilary.

Adrienne Bailon’s New Bangs: Love ‘Em or Hate ‘Em?

Albert Michael/Startraks, Bryan Bedder/Getty

Now that her Disney Channel show has come to an end, Adrienne Bailon is waving goodbye to her Cheetah Girls do and reinventing her look. Last week the star got stylish, debuting an edgier cut with blunt bangs that was a welcome change from the softer look she rocked as a member of the girl group, “There was a certain look we were going for,” she told PEOPLE.com at KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango in Irvine, Calif. “We had to look like our characters. Now that I can be me, it’s so liberating. I can do whatever I want.” So what was her style inspiration? “I wanted to look like the Versace ad where the girls had these blunt-cut bangs,” Adrienne says. “Honestly, [I did it out of] boredom!” Tell us: What do you think of Adrienne’s new do? –reporting by Nicholas White

PEOPLE.com Readers Sound Off on Kate Gosselin’s Hairdo

Michael Kovac/FilmMagic

Looks like Kate Gosselin won’t be the next Jennifer Aniston of the hair world. After telling Entertainment Weekly that “everybody wants” her asymmetrical hairstyle, we asked PEOPLE.com readers to weigh in on whether they really do envy the Jon & Kate Plus Eight star’s distinctive look. With over 1,000 comments and counting, the majority of readers think her do is a don’t. To start, readers dubbed her style the “reverse mullet” and called the look outdated. “That style was hot for a nanosecond when T-Boz rocked it in the 90s,” says reader Bee. Pauline comments that it’s the worst hairdo she has seen this year, and Bonnie says, “Kate’s hair looks like each of the kids took a turn at cutting the back while she was sleeping.” But although most readers won’t be asking for “The Gosselin” anytime soon, there are some who have already copied the look. Kelly Moss, for example, says, “I love her hair! I actually have my hair cut like hers…with my own little flair, of course.” Ande also shares Kate’s hairstyle, writing, “I think it is cute and looks great on her, but I do agree that it has been around for many years before Kate started wearing her hair like this.” We can’t imagine the reality star with any other do, but we want to know what you think. Tell us: Should Kate keep her signature look? What other style could she try?

Jennifer Aniston Undergoes an Onscreen Tress-formation!

Suzanne Hanover/Samuel Goldwyn Films

For her new role as a traveling saleswoman in the film Management, which hits theaters today, Jennifer Aniston trades her famous head of perfectly tousled hair for a darker auburn bob that’s a distinctive departure from her signature relaxed glamour. “She wanted to look very different,” says Melissa A. Yonkey, her hairstylist on the film, “but didn’t want to cut or dye her hair.” Jen’s solution? A $10,000 custom wig created by her offscreen hair guru Chris McMillan. “The color was very complimentary on her. She’s got wonderful warm skin,” says Yonkey. And the new look was all for the sake of art. “With that blond hair, she’s very known as Jennifer Aniston.” says Yonkey, “and I think sometimes that takes away from watching the story”. But don’t think the hairstylist wasn’t at least a little worried about taking style risks with one of America’s most famous movie stars. “I was actually very, very concerned,” she says. “She’s so well-known for her hair that I was waiting for a lot of backlash. But I haven’t had it yet.” Tell us: What do you think of Jennifer’s onscreen hair?Reporting by Nicholas White

Kate Gosselin on Her Hair: “Everybody Wants It”

Michael Kovac/FilmMagic

First there was “The Farrah,” then “The Rachel,” and now, “The Gosselin”? Jon & Kate Plus Eight‘s famous mom is known almost as much for her amped up, asymmetrical hairdo as her brood of eight kids — and recent marital scandals. And when the PEOPLE cover-star sat down with Entertainment Weekly recently to talk about living in a fishbowl, she also dished on her distinctive do. While the reality star doesn’t reveal whether she’s actually named the look, she does respond, “It’s my attitude! Everybody wants it. It’s work.” The secret to getting the style right? “I have very, very thick hair, so it’s not going to work for everybody. I’ve seen people come through the book line with thin hair and [it] just won’t work. My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country.” Tell us: Do you want to try Kate’s look?

Winona Ryder’s Anti-Aging Secret: Big Gulps of Water

Steve Granitz/WireImage

Those of us who grew up on her classic films like Heathers and Reality Bites and see her now keep asking each other the same question: why is it that we keep getting older while Winona Ryder keeps staying the same age? “She hasn’t aged and let me tell you, she has had absolutely nothing done,” her make-up artist on her upcoming film Stay Cool and friend Kim Collea tells PEOPLE. Her secret? “She is a very healthy eater, and I think that is a big part of it,” says Collea. “It sounds boring, but the girl eats a lot of salads. And you know those giant Big Gulps cups that most people fill with soda? She’s got hers filled with water.” As for make-up, Ryder, who famously sported a Gothic look in movies like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands, has switched to a minimalist and more natural look. “When it comes to Noni, less is always more,” says Collea. “With her I did a mix of Neutrogena, Chanel, and this stuff called Alison Raffaele a natural line. She likes everything to be natural. Her palette is all ivories, and beiges and very light browns.” One thing that hasn’t changed for the Gen-X icon is her knack for the perfect accessory. “She has the most amazing handbags,” says Collea. “Designers send them to her. They are beautiful.” To read more about Ryder’s surprising cameo in Star Trek and the 37-year-old’s new life in Hollywood, check out this week’s issue of PEOPLE. –Oliver Jones
