I might wear a headscarf. I think they can look chic. But I wouldn’t do it like this. She looks like she should be doing her Saturday cleaning instead of strutting her stuff as America’s Next Top Model.

I think headwraps can be very cute, though I would never be able to pull it off. in this case, however, it looks like a mistake. Also, i think you have to have a small head to pull this off.

Recently, I was telling my sister how head wraps and scarves should make a comeback. I have a high maintenance hairstyle. I have thick thick hair that I coax into a bob then wrap it at night (us Puerto Ricans call it “el doo bee”) and sometimes on the weekends, I don’t want to be bothered. She should have taken the extra material of the scarf, tied it to the back into a bun, and wore hoop or large earrings. I am going to start small like wearing a head wrap while gardening then to the store and so on.

I don’t mind the idea of a head wrap, but this one seems dangerously reminiscent of the style worn by 19th slave women in the South. I would hate for anyone to think that I was glamorizing or forgetting the horrible stain that the Atlantic slave trade left on this country. So, even if the wrap was not limited to slave days, I still say “NO,” to this particular style
