Anthony/Pacific Coast News

Gossip Girl‘s Queen Bee Leighton Meester might be known for her brown hair, but today in L.A. the actress showed off a buzz-worthy new honey blonde style. While it took us by surprise at first, we did remember that Leighton is actually a natural blonde who went brunette for her role in the hit show — so unlike Kim Kardashian, she’s returning to her true roots! She starts a movie on Friday. I think she dyed her hair blond for the part.

brunette is better! the blonde makes her look a bit washed out and pale.

Brunette, her blonde hair looks horrible!!!!

This is NOT her natural hair color. This is bleached out, colored brown. Big difference.

Love Leighton but like her better as a brunie!

maybe the writers are following the books, in the series she’s blonde for a short period, then dyes it dark again
