Lauren Conrad to Design Affordable Clothing Line for Kohl's!

04/22/2009 at 12:33 PM ET

Matt Sayles/AP

She may have put her signature clothing line on hiatus, but that doesn’t mean that Lauren Conrad is taking a break from designing. The Hills star has just announced that she is teaming up with Kohl’s to bring fans her California cool style at more budget-friendly prices with the LC Lauren Conrad collection. Just how affordable will the new line be? The designs will range from $20 to $60 — a steal compared to her first eponymous line, where jersey dresses ran as much as $200. “Partnering with a successful national retailer like Kohl’s supports my mission to make great clothing accessible to young women everywhere,” Lauren said in a press statement. LC Lauren Conrad will launch with just apparel at 300 Kohl’s stores and kohls.com in October 2009, but may expand into footwear, jewelry, handbags, intimates and sleepwear at a later date. Tell us: Will you buy from Lauren’s collection for Kohl’s?

Definitely. She has great style and if the designs are as cute as I imagine, I’ll definitely be checking them out! :) Go Lauren!

I am really glad she decided to work with Kohls being that in this day and age people can’t afford to pay the bills. How did she expect to sell jersey dresses for 200.00 when its the middle class people that love and watch her shoes . Its time celebs cater to the people who make them rich and able to do the things like design, sing, act or whatever . Thanks to LC !!!

Sounds interesting. I liked her style of the original clothing line, however some of it looked a bit boring. Hopefully this time around she will incorporate a little more style closer to what she actually wears. Good price point!

kalli on

i would sooooooooo buy laurens clothes but i hope she doesnt overprice her style cause no one would buy them.

I’m glad she’ll have something more affordable. I love her line of clothing, but, damn…I was reading about it once, and I saw a dress I loved. Until I saw the price: $220. It was nice, but not worth THAT much. Let’s see what she does with the Kohl’s line. Now maybe I’d buy THAT.

I’m so excited. I love shopping at Kohl’s so this should be a very successful line. :) Awesome decision Lauren!!

Olivia on

That impresses me greatly! It’s always nice to be able to get cute outfits at an affordable price made by someone with such a cute style! I don’t even like Kohl’s, but I will shop there now!

[...] Conrad may have taken a hiatus on her namesake line, but that’s probably because she’s been busy designing a line of lower priced goods for Kohls. I’m thinking her signature jersey pieces, but for less [...]

I am so excited that she will be doing this. She is one of the only “celebs” that started their career pursuing this. Seems like everyone just falls into a design line. She actually went to school to pursue this, and I am so excited for her!!

Rebecca on

i would possibly, cause cause Lauren is a sweetheart and i’d like to see her clothing succed she deserves it. littl sweet pea.

Sarah on

I love Lauren Conrad

Sarah on

Katie on

OMG! Yay! I love, love, LOVE her style so it’ll be really nice to be able to get stuff designed by her for an affordable price! Yes!

Meghan on

I definetely will buy her line. I hated how expensive her other stuff was, so this is perfect!!!

clarissanash1 on

I like Lauren’s style.

It’s simple and chic, young and flirty, however, her line was way expensive, especially for her fans who want to dress like her (though I understasnd, it’s still bit pricey). I’m glad she’s going through Kohl’s.

Can’t wait to check out her line!

Lisa on

Awww, I don’t shop at Khols. I would’ve definitely purchased had her clothing line been sold elsewhere.
I have a feeling it won’t be successful-especially if she expands to designing accessories and pj’s. It will work for about 6 months before it falls flat.

erica on

For sure!! she always looks fabulous and i have gotten many ideas from watching her on the ‘hills’. i have a very similar body type and she has shown me how to wear my clothes to be flattering and stylish. i also love how she mixes and matches!! Love you Lauren, cant wait to see you at Kohls!

JC on

Absolutely! She has amazing style… I’m glad to hear that she will be offering a more affordable line.

catherine on

i love her clothes and am happy about the new price

LL on

Congrats! I’m so happy for her. While Speidi is in the celeb new for…whatever…Lauren has proved herself to be business savvy, which will last much longer than fame. She deserves every bit of success that she gets and Kohl’s will be very fortunate to have her line in their stores.

Hailey on

I would DEFINITLEY her clothing line at Kohls. I love her style and the prices seem really affordable!

Monica on

I’ll definitely want to see the items but I have not doubt I’ll find something that I love. I love her style.

Jocelyn on

I will for sure buy her stuff =) I love her designs!

melissa on

yes yes yes!! hopefully it comes to the kohls where i live!!!!

She always looks like she’s smelling a fart! This pic is no exception!
