Ever since Michelle Obama chose his elegant cream gown for her inaugural appearance months ago, Jason Wu‘s name has kept the fashion world buzzing. At the Grey Gardens premiere event in N.Y.C. earlier this week, the tastemaker took a moment to talk with FabSugar about creating for his most high-profile fan. “It’s fantastic,” he said of Michelle selecting the now-iconic gown, “And to have a dress in the Smithsonian is not too shabby either.” While at 26 years old, Wu might be young to have achieved such a high-profile stature, he’s grounded enough not to get caught up in the fame. “As a designer I’m always creative,” he says. “To me just right now, I’m just buried in my work and haven’t had a moment to think about it.” But despite his busy schedule, his newfound place in Washington history hasn’t gone unnoticed by Jason. “Someone pointed out to me, ‘Your dress is going to outlive you.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s pretty great!'” Click here to read the full story on FabSugar.com.
