SNEAK PEEK: Op’s Star-Studded “Summer of Music” Ads

Larry Bartholomew and Op

AnnaLynne McCord, Sophia Bush, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, Brody Jenner, Cody Linley and Bow Wow lend their star power to the beach concert-themed Op spring and summer ads. The television and music stars showcase Op’s new collections while enjoying a Good Charlotte concert on Westward Beach in Malibu. “It’s a natural, easy collaboration for Good Charlotte,” says Joel Madden in a press statement. “We don’t get to play a lot of shows on the beach so it’s cool to be here today playing on the beach for Op.” The ads will debut this month in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines and online at op.com. Op is sold exclusively at Walmart stores. Tell us: What do you think of Op’s new ads?

I think these ads are a great nod to this generation, and a throwback to the Summer of Love, they do there job and do there job well. and there is the right mixture of stars, where the star power doesn’t overtake the ad.

I love Sophia Bush! She’s so underestimated as an actress.

I’m so glad to see Cody Linley’s career take off. He is very talented and I’m thrilled to see him in Op’s new ads.

i love the idea of having all those stars in one thing. more importantly, this ad looks great–really natural and beachy and perfect for summer. great job, marketing dept– i love it even though i know it’s an ad:)

Who is the main person in this picture? Come on, at least have a close up for you, (insert main person’s name).

Since there are no walmarts here in nyc, I have never seen their stuff. But I have also never heard of the brand either. And third, I do not like naming rights. Naming rights tell me that every time I see the event in a ‘story’ that somebody got paid to run the story. In the old days, it was called payola. It takes away from any creditibility you might have. You want a concert on the beach? Fine. I don’t need to see a ‘story’ or more to the point, an advertorial, on this site for it. Granted, most of your stories are advertorial, so I guess it’s something you’re already used to doing.

i keep seeing Sophia Bush everywhere… what has she been in!? I don’t get it. She’s been in some cheesy high school movies and a tv show… i think she needs to improve her resume. Good for her for getting so much press and stuff when she isn’t that big.
