Tori Spelling Dishes About Her Children’s Clothing Collection

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

Looks like there’s another star designer on the rise. Tori Spelling has inked a deal for a children’s apparel line, Little Maven by Tori Spelling, which will hit stores this fall. The actress and mom-of-two dished to PEOPLE.com about her chic and casual Hollywood-inspired line. “I’ve always loved fashion,” she says. “It’s one of my big passions in life. When I had kids I knew I wanted to use my flair for style to make stylish yet comfortable clothing for my children. Liam and Stella inspired me to make stylish yet accessible clothing for infants, toddlers, and children.” But style wasn’t the only factor actress considered. “The comfort [and] functionality factor really influences the styles I include in my collection. I pay close attention to what styles and materials Liam and Stella feel most comfortable in, and then I add the stylish element. Plus I love to dress my kids in strong fun pop colors, and that really inspired me to keep the line bold in palette.” So which looks are her kids loving right now? “Liam loves bold bright colors and gravitates to them. Of course, he wants to wear something with a monkey on it, which inspired the monkey hang tag on all the boys clothing. He also loves jeans. So I created the “Liam” jean just for him. It’s the perfect cut, stylish, and comfortable. And I love the LM stitched on back pockets, which stands for Little Maven, but I tell him it’s LM for Liam McDermott!” Inspired by her new baby girl, Tori knew she wanted to take her girls’ designs in a direction that was cute — but not too girly. “I wanted to find the happy medium between dressing Stella too baby-girl-frilly and too sophisticated in style. It’s adorable toddler mixed with Hollywood glam starlet!” Items will retail between $24-$88 in department and specialty stores across the country. Tell us: Will you buy Tori’s clothes for the kids in your life?

Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow and More Turn Out For Valentino

Anne Hathaway may have already made an appearance at the N.Y.C. premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor, but last night she got a second look, joining stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Joan Collins, Rachel Zoe and Nicky Hilton at the documentary’s West Coast premiere in L.A. For the man of honor, the question of letting filmmakers document his life was a tough but ultimately satisfying choice. “Of course it was difficult,” he told PEOPLE.com. “But finally it is so beautiful and so good that now I accept it and it is okay.” Hathaway, who entered the screening theatre through a side entrance hand-in-hand with boyfriend Adam Shulman, said that she wishes that the recently retired designer would step back into the world of fashion. “I’m going to beg him to come back,” she told PEOPLE.com. “I actually begged him to make me an Oscar dress, but that didn’t happen and I got to wear the most gorgeous Armani — but I think now that he has retired we all appreciate him that much more.” And the rest of the Hollywood seemed to agree, as the audience stood when the design legend entered the theatre, and then again at the end of the film.

Demis Maryannakis/Splash News Online/span>

SoHo looked more like Hollywood last night as stars turned out for the much anticipated launch party for the famed British cheap-and-chic retailer Topshop in N.Y.C. And while the lead-up to the opening may have been plagued by delays, the wait was worth it as everyone from Topshop’s star designer Kate Moss to Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez and tastemakers Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs headed to Balthazar for an exclusive dinner — that just happened to be one of the fashion events of the season. During a surprise performance by Hudson, who’s long been obsessed with the British retailer, the sequined star shouted out, “I’ve got my little Topshop outfit on. Is this all right?” Lovebirds Lopez and Mark Anthony watched as Hudson performed “One Night Only” from their seats at Moss’s table, which they also shared with designer Jason Wu. And while Lopez might be able to afford the priciest of designer garb, she told PEOPLE.com that she’s a fan of Topshop for its low-priced chic. “I love that you can get a lot of stuff there, really inexpensive,” she said, “that it fits really great, and they really concentrate on making cool, really cutting-edge clothes.” Check out all the goods at Topshop.com — free shipping all week!
