Gwyneth Paltrow Shows Off Her New Clothing Line

Courtesy Flynet

Style maven Gwyneth Paltrow is about to be the next star to turn designer. French label ZOEtee’s confirms to PEOPLE.com that the actress is designing a capsule collection with them — and she’s already showing it off! Stepping out in London last week, the star wore a heather gray jersey dress from her debut ZOEtee’s LOVES Gwyneth line. The collection, which will consist of seven easy-dressing silhouettes ranging from casual basics to draped evening dresses, will capture the star’s laid-back daytime style, as well as her always-elegant red carpet looks. Taking inspiration from ’70s glam and rock ‘n’ roll, the line will play with form, pairing over-sized shapes with tight-fitting styles and asymmetrical cuts. And style icon Gwyneth made sure she was involved in every stage of the development process, from fit to detailing to fabrics and packaging. Expect to see mesh detailed tops, draped evening dresses, vintage look sweatshirts, jumpsuits and recycled cotton legging basics. ZOEtee’s Loves Gwyneth will hit stores in both Europe and the U.S. in mid-August, with proceeds from every piece being donated to the charity Kids Company. Stay tuned for more information. It just amazes me that everyday a new actor or actress is coming out with a clothing line or scent. Do any of them read the paper or listen to the news? Our country is in recession and one of the first things to go are the new expensive clothes. I guess they feel that because they can afford anything, the rest of us can too.

Designers should design clothes and actors should…well, do whatever it is exactly that they do for society.

The description of the clothes makes them sound wonderful — who doesn’t love “draped evening dresses” and “vintage look sweatshirts”? I’m especially crazy about the idea of recycled cotton basics — we all buy that stuff anyway; why not make it good for the earth? So glad to hear some of the money will be going to charity too. This seems like a win-win. Which stores will carry these pieces?

Ashley

I have my checkbook ready. I love Gwyneth!

Cate

I would definitely NOT buy her clothes.

She’s really pretty, but I think her stylist is on major drugs. She’s always wearing some ridiculous wacky outfit!

If she translates her style into affordable clothes for the public… just… ew.

Andee Lee

Is she preggers?

Berni

If Gwyneth is affordable, I’d love that look! I had a heather grey mini dress in the 70s and wore it to shreds!

gwyneth his so pretentious, i would not be able to buy her clothing. and i think i could find a basic grey dress somewhere else with very little trouble – she always dresses so plainly, i think her clothes will be nothing special.

nicole

I will not buy her clothes because oftentimes Gwyneth P. is dressing up like crazy…her styles are out of this world….

Nraa

Absolutely. Yes I would. Her style is clean and simple BUT interesting and fresh. Reminds me of Scandinavian design, Danish stylish.
Tilda Swinton & Erykah Badu have also great, inspiring visions.
