Oprah Shares the Cover of O With Michelle Obama

For the first time in its nine year existence, O, The Oprah Magazine will feature a cover model other than just Oprah Winfrey herself. For its April issue, the talk-show host will share the spotlight with First Lady Michelle Obama, who sits down in her new home — the White House — and gets candid with the media mogul. In the issue, which will hit newsstands on March 17, Michelle talks frankly about decorating the White House, keeping up with friends, her daughters and more. We applaud Michelle’s consistency in wearing American designers– even on magazine covers. The First Lady wore a Tracy Reese dress on the cover of PEOPLE just last week! And for her Oprah cover, she appears clad in an orange Michael Kors sheath and Dream Cashmere cardigan. And she isn’t stopping with fashion. Michelle tells Oprah she will look to American artists when decorating the White House. “I want art that reflects contemporary and traditional, I want to bring in new American artisans,” she says. I stopped by “O” because I couldn’t stand seeing all the airbrushing that Oprah insists on having. She talks the talk on her show, but does not in real life.

Now she has the First Lady on the cover — and it looks like she took to airbrushing her, too. Whatever happened to the honesty that Oprah insists everybody act on??? What an insult to our intelligence.

Out of respect for the office of the President, Oprah should have bowed out and given the cover entirely to the First Lady, that would have been the prudent thing to do!
