Would You Wear Tights with Shorts Like Katie?

Whether it was her stylish bob or shabby chic boyfriend jeans, Katie Holmes has certainly been one of this year’s biggest stylesetters. The film and Broadway star is always a showstopper in classic pieces but isn’t afraid to go for a bit more edge sometimes, like when she stepped out in denim shorts with tights recently. But this unexpected winter ensemble, paired with a coat, scarf and slouchy boots may not work on everyone. The editors at StyleWatch want to know what you think. I’ve done tights with shorts before, but I do it a little more casual, like with my black cowboy boots, a black cardigan and an across-the-body bag.

The whole point of wearing shorts is so your legs can be partially exposed. If you wear tights with them, you might as well wear pants. It defies the whole purpose of shorts.
