FIRST LOOK: Ellen DeGeneres’s CoverGirl Ads!

Ellen DeGeneres has been gearing up for her first beauty campaign as the face of CoverGirl and Olay’s newest product Simply Ageless Foundation. This product is a first of its kind — an anti-aging makeup that stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles, instead of settling into lines which can make you look older. Ellen’s famous face will be the focus of the new print and television ads starting in January 2009. “I’m thrilled to be a CoverGirl,” says Ellen. “I’ve been practicing in my bathroom mirror for years…Now finally, you’ll all be able to see it.” Tell us: What do you think of Ellen’s CoverGirl ads?

Finally they’ve gotten the right person for these ads.

All those other glamor gals, have done it for years. It’s time they got someone we everyday gal’s can relate to.

Thank you Ellen for doin’ what only you do best…putting humor where it should be. Make-up really isn’t that important, now is it!

I think it is great Cover Girl chose her! She is a naturally pretty woman that a lot of women could see themself as…not some standard of beauty that is unobtainable for most like Jessica Alba or Heidi Klum.

I sincerely doubt Cover Girl has Ellen looking so good in this ad campaign because she is gay. What’s gay got to do with the fact the lady looks good … no, make that great! For those of you who state you “will now take your business elsewhere or will not purchase Cover Girl products again” – I doubt Cover Girl is overly concerned about that either. Get a grip folks …
this is not about sexual preference – this is about a lovely face and person that will best promote their products !!!
Oh, and I am a “straight” old lady of 61 – I use Cover Girl and I think I look damned good too; so I guess their products work for all of us!!!!!!!

She looks great but honestly, why in the world is she pushing a product? Does she need even more money? I’m a little put off by the commercialism of such a successful entertainer selling herself even more. The AMEX ads were disappointing too, but at least they were funny. Now she’s using herself to sell us more stuff? It’s a little off-putting, especially given that she’s built her image on taking the high road. Does anyone else feel this way? More money from our pockets to Ellen’s… Why?
