Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Her Top Picks for Holiday Gifts

In this week’s installment of her newsletter Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow muses on the the spirit of the season and shares her favorite gift-giving secrets. “What is holiday spirit? For me, it means helping to create that atmosphere where loved ones feel full of cheer, like some happy secret is about to be revealed,” she says. “Holiday spirit is a feeling of warmth, of togetherness, of connectedness. We get that by giving. We get it by watching cheeks flush with color when something opened and in the hands conveys a message: I know you, I get you, I see you.” Her top gift choices to show she cares include the Flip Ultra Camcorder, ($149) — which is also one of PEOPLE.com’s choices in our Star Favorites: The Chicest Gifts. “This thing is genius,” she says. I think Gywneth is beautiful. However, if I were the recipient of a box of her $110 chocolates, I would probably sell them to anyone who would pay me the money just because they came from Gwyneth. Doesn’t take much thought to order boxes of expensive chocolates for her friends. If I had Gwyneth’s money, I would be more thoughtful in gift giving.

You guys should all stop being so mean to Gwyneth. Not everyone is as poor as you guys are, and SOME people actually CAN afford $110 chocolates. And it’s the holiday season, so it’s obviously a little luxury. And all you people that are hating on Gwyneth, I happen to think that she has a great sense of style and she’s really smart too. Okay, so she named her kid Apple. That doesn’t mean anything! None of you guys are like 6 feet tall and pretty and blonde and skinny.

to kmp: instead of judging people perhaps you might find a better job or get an education and you too might be able to afford the things you are so jealous of. we are not out of touch. i work hard for my money and if i want to buy a 2,000 watch or a 3,000 chanel purse i will (and certainly have!) i do a lot for charity. i have raised millions of dollars for non-profits. and i absolutely give myself. that being said, i am not responsible to support other people. i am entitled to spend the money i earn anyway i see fit. and so does gwen and anyone else who makes money. there are PLENTY of people who can easily afford 110 for chocolate (personally i would get sick from all that chocolate) so get over jealousy and head back to college!

and great job for some of you non haters!! jealousy is very ugly.
