Sarah Jessica Parker Looking for New Home for Bitten

Michael Loccisano/FilmMagic

Mega-chain Steve & Barry’s has been having financial woes for the past few months, including multiple bankruptcy filings, which has led us to wonder what is happening to their star lines? Remember, Amanda Bynes, Stephon Marbury and Sarah Jessica Parker have all designed affordable fashion lines for the stores. NYMag.com caught up with SJP last night, who revealed she is looking for a new home for her Bitten line. “We have a lot of home offers,” Parker said. “We have to make sure that any partner we enter into an agreement with wants the same thing for the brand as we do, which is to serve the customer first. You know, it can’t be about commerce, it has to be about the customer, and we have to see who’s really willing to be that generous.” And not to worry, she’s keeping her original commitment to affordable clothing — the majority of the line is under $20. “Now, more than ever, people need all things that are about economy,” she continued. “So I want very much to continue it in the right way. So we just have to figure out what’s right for the customer, and how to do it in these economic times.” We’ll be waiting and watching!

We thought Beyonce’s metal glove was already an over-the-top look, but we spied the singer sporting some pretty wacky sunglasses while filming her lastest video for “Diva” this weekend. Check out that metal fringe! But apparently, out-there eyewear is the newest fashion trend for stars, because Rihanna performed at the American Music Awards this weekend in a bejeweled eyepatch. Now we want your opinion! Tell us: Which star’s eyewear is more outrageous? Rihanna or Beyonce?

Hayden Panettiere Turns Handbag Designer for Dooney & Bourke

Dooney & Bourke

The Heroes star isn’t just saving the world from evil on TV — she’s helping to bring good design to your closet, too. Hayden Panettiere, who is Dooney & Bourke’s spokesmodel, has teamed up with the label’s designer Peter Dooney to create the perfect bag for Spring 09. Named after the star herself, the “Hayden Clutch” is made from Italian calfskin and fastened with a 24 carat gold plated lion head, inspired by her astrological sign the Leo. PEOPLE caught up the new handbag designer who told us she was part of the design process from the initial drawing to the lion’s head clasp. “Instead of putting my name on it, I put a lions head on it. It’s a way of representing me,” says Hayden. The clutch shape was also her idea. “I asked if I could design a clutch because it’s something that I’ve familiar with because I carry them around all of the time.” The bag will come in a variety of colors including blue, red, black, white, brown, hot pink (Hayden’s favorite) and purple. The Hayden Clutch, $295, will hit Dooney & Bourke stores nationwide in December. The Hayden Clutch isn’t the first bag by the young star. Hayden also lent her skill to the Hayden Bag, a large patent number, for the Fall 08 collection. Though her bags are a big hit, the star doesn’t have any desire to become a fashion designer. “I’m going to stick to acting. If I designed anything it would probably be something for myself, more of a personal thing. I’m not interested in becoming a designer.”Tell us: What do you think of the Hayden clutch? Will you buy one?

Stars Shine at Designer Jason Wu’s MySpace Trunk Show

Frank Micelotta/Getty

With Lucy Liu serving as the event’s fashionable host, guests including celeb-stylist Rachel Zoe, January Jones, Kate Mara and China Chow filed into Satine boutique in West Hollywood to check out the designer’s MySpace Fashion Trunk Show and Spring Collection Preview. “I love his dresses,” said January, “because they’re tailored and polished.” The Mad Men actress also appreciates Wu’s chic yet comfortable attitude toward dressing the female form. “This dress doesn’t have a corset built into it,” she said of her form-fitting frock. “I’d rather have a belly than a corset!” For the evening’s hostess, it was all about one special item. “My favorite look is the citron embroidered dot dress from the spring collection,” said Lucy. “I think the material and colors are unique and feminine — like most of Jason’s collection.” And while Wu may have a star following that includes A-listers like Lu and Charlize Theron, the designer also takes inspiration from the industry’s up-and-comers. “I love working with young actresses who are just on the verge,” he explains. “It’s always good to have a muse.” Click here to see more from Jason’s the MySpace event and here to see his MySpace profile.
