Lindsay Lohan on Her Leggings Launch: “Really Exciting”

Yesterday Lindsay Lohan blogged about the launch of her leggings line 6126 in New York, and PEOPLE caught up with the multi-tasking star at the after party for the Cinema Society and Dolce & Gabbana sponsored premiere of Filth and Wisdom at the Thompson LES hotel to hear how it all went. Lohan tells PEOPLE that “it was really exciting. It was at Henri Bendel’s and they did an amazing job for us. We sold 700 leggings in an hour, more than I ever thought would ever happen.” And Lohan is clearly pleased at her involvement in the line, telling PEOPLE “it was a really cool thing to be a part of and to know that I had a hand in designing the leggings.” And the leggings launch wasn’t the only exciting thing on Lohan’s agenda while in New York. “I went to Madonna’s show last night. Every time I see another show of hers she becomes a newer icon to me. She’s timeless in a way that Marilyn Monroe was but was didn’t get to fulfill.” And considering that Monroe was the inspiration behind the name of Lohan’s 6126 line, that may just be the ultimate compliment.

I love leggings so I’m glad she’s found something simple like leggings to make and style her own! I also think Marilyn Monroe is inspiring; I just don’t get how she inspired funky leggings? And I just saw Madonna’s crazy wacky shoes, Lindsay might want to take back what she said about her! Madonna cannot be compared to Marilyn! She evolves all the time yes, but she is not classic or timeless! Let’s correctly categorize people!!!

i was there! no way she sold 700 in an hour. there weren’t 700 pairs on the floor, there weren’t 700 people there! LIES LIES LIES! she was hiding for an hour talking to reporters… sorry lindz.

Oh, poor Lindsay. She looks about 40 years old in this picture. And leggings were terrible the first time around. I have no idea why she’s trying to resurrect them. But I suppose she’s finally doing something she’s actually “good at”.

here here, Pamela…..i dont care for the ones she’s wearing either. i also dont get the Marilyn Monroe connection. im more confused about her than ever. at least we didnt have to hear about/see her side-kick this time.

First, the name of Lindsay’s leggings company is 6126 which refers to Marilyn Monroe’s birthday (June 1, 1926) NOT to Marilyn’s style. Second, leggings are in and will always come and go. Check the prices on eBay for designer leggings and you will see how popular they are! And Lindsay’s personal life may be in shambles, but so it goes with stars this age. She is a GREAT actress with a real spark (check out Georgia Rules.) Hopefully she hangs in there and turns herself around (like Drew Barrymore did…)

I LOVE legging, but not this particular pair. I just hope she makes them affordable. I just don’t get how leggings can be so expensive sometimes….
